Need a smart guy in the Center position

Love kids offered by the academies. The work ethic to be elite will be there if vetted by USAF.

Can definitely play center with that body leverage and balance. I wish all O-Lineman had a wrestling background

Love that he had offers from Miami and ga tech. Two coaches who know their shite about lineman.

And he played D-Line as an underclassman. I think he is a sleeper:
1. Academy smart
2. Wrestles (in the 285-pound class - a very good HS record)
3. Switched from DLine in HS
Could be the starting C in 2027 and 2028, easily.

He's a wrestler, too.

Those are the smart kind that make excellent centers.

Leverage, positioning, body awareness and maybe most important of all…HAND FIGHTING. There’s not an O Line coach that can teach hand fighting to the level that you learn in wrestling. OL, DL, and LBs especially should wrestle. Throw in a WR and a DB who usually run track instead and I’ll show you a guy that can release (WR) and clamp (DB) better than the field. More skill guys should give it a go.

This is very interesting. Someone who understands leverage. That and the fact that he was smart enough to get into a service academy = great pick up IMO

Yeah, it is great but has some drawbacks too. I always got a feel that fewer “big men” go out for wrestling when they also play football. Especially if they are tall.
The conditioning you have to have is off the charts and training is brutal. Kids get injured all the time.
But, they get good practice at weight management and instead of relying on bad weight, their bodies are shaped more by muscle. That prepares them better for a college program.

I don't care what they are ranked. I want nasty OL from now on. Vicious, nasty monsters.

In my son’s HS wrestling career we’d usually get 10 or so football players come out for wrestling outside of the football players that grew up wrestling also. At most 10% would stick with it. They mentally couldn’t withstand the grueling practices and conditioning. Gotta be a tough SOB with a screw loose to have the chest.
