I don’t think Kelly can afford to bring in another 1st time defensive coordinator with the Matt house flop this yeah….do we think Elijah would really be able to scheme the D?

If the poster said him leaving will be his choice, he will probably join back up with Matt Rhule or I’m praying Brian Kelly gets him for the same position at LSU.

House has been a DC at Pitt and Kentucky prior to being a DC here. He has also coached almost every defensive position at one point in his career. It's honestly head scratching, looking at his resume, how our defense is so bad.

I’ve said this a few times, House wasn’t a bad hire. It ended poorly but on paper, it wasn’t a bad hire.

Agreed. It's probably a mix of a lot of things: injuries, sub par position coaches, d line coach carousel, house not making obvious adjustments in game, etc.
My biggest gripe with House though is the third down defense. Even with all the other things I listed above being true the third down defense has been the worst I've ever seen at lsu. There's just no excuse for it.

It was a middling hire. And it cost Kelly a shot at playoffs this year.
