It hurts when in-state kids leave the state, but shite like this makes us sound inhuman. I can even understand venting after a recruit who played/trolled us, but that just goes too far and EVERYBODY deserves a second chance. We're talking about 17-18 year impressionable kids here. Look at how our fanbase acts sometimes. I bet most of us are way older.

Nothing that isn't on here already. Karr guys both told Frank they were coming to LSU Wed night.

If this is true, then I'm convinced I'm right. Speedy and Gerald did this as a big "frick you" to LSU and their fanbase for what they see as disrespecting their family/friend (LC and Noel Ellis). String them along and then publicly commit elsewhere. Pretty childish if they straight lied to Frank like that.

It is amazing there is no loyalty with some of these kids.. To straight up lie to a coach just shows their character. I have no idea what Willis was thinking... He will regret his decision for years to come.

I can see him saying that about an Alabama degree. However, if Willis gets a UF degree, he will be able to work in any state he wants, if he gets a decently respectable degree.

You are assuming he gets his degree.

Willis is no Rhodes scholar and that is putting it nicely.

The guys that are spurning Louisiana for out of state schools are not thinking about jobs... These aren't the Tommy Hodson, Ruffin Rodrigue, Jesse Daigle type of guys. We r talking, Speedy Noil, Gerald Willis and guys with unrealistic expectations of being rich in the pros. And they are all advised by a greedy parent or some crook. They aren't going to listen to Ruffin, or any other person with reasonable advice.

It's truly sad that you have to completely explain a rhetorical comment.

Yet, these Rhodes scholars want to call us dumb for making a valid point.

I just need to keep in mind that the average iq is 98 [95 for louisiana] (and for all you Terence Tao's out there, that means that half of you is below that number).

So thread TL;dr.
Kids that crawl back home to mommy after choosing OOS football scholly, cushy jobs are harder to get. Fair point.

Opportunities exist for OOS football scholars that stay OOS. Also fair.

Moral of the story. Duh.

Say I go to A&M instead of LSU. Yeah, ok, I won't have a job somewhere locked up after college in Baton Rouge. So? I can go to Houston or Dallas and find an Aggie somewhere. Houston and Dallas >> BR.

Go back and read the OP. You made his point.

Again people absolutely suck at reading comprehension. For the 17th time, no shite you can get a job in Houston/Dallas as an aggie and other schools are the same way. This is solely talking about the guys who crawl back to their home state because its all they know and don't get hooked up as easy as an LSU player would.

You have to be literate to get a job in Houston or dallas.

1) This thread is concerning Athletes (specifically former Football players). NOT everyday Joe's with college degrees from other states.

2) This thread is about "Cush Jobs/ Higher End Jobs", not jobs vacuuming cars at Bennies

3) Yes, Landon Collins can get a job in Alabama after football (that's not the point of the thread)

4) This thread is about states with 1 flagship university (Specifically Louisiana and LSU).

5) This thread is about (more or less) all things being equal. Naturally if Gerald Willis gets a Biomedical Engineering degree, he will have opportunities in any state.

6) Football players from other states that come to LSU naturally receive the same preferential treatment after football as native Louisianians

7) Yes, obviously some former High School players will never return to Louisiana, however, it's a bit myopic to think none ever will.

8) If you owned a car dealership in Baton Rouge and your livelihood depended on it, would you hire Jacob Hester as a salesman or Jantzen Jackson ?

So if an out of state recruit comes to LSU, does really well, gets his degree but doesn't make the NFL, the boosters won't hook the brother up.

This is the dumbest frickin argument. I don't know who this Ruffin Rodrigue dude is, and I really don't care, but for crying out loud will you people get over the fact that some kids wanna leave the state of Louisiana and most could give a shite if that means they lose the opportunity to get a job as a used car salesman in LA if their football career doesn't turn out the way they hoped. The whole argument that 17-18 year old kids should choose a school based off the assumption they are gonna fail at football and will need a "Cush" job is ridiculous. Speedy Noil may never be a NFL receiver, but the idiots that think he should have stayed in LA based on the fact that he would have a better chance getting a job is ridiculous. I love LSU, and want every kid offered by LSU to want to come here, but the reality is some of these kids have goals and dreams that aren't focused around LSU. Get over it.
