On 1045espn right now. Really good stuff. Put it very bluntly and eloquently.

He basically said if you want to get out of the state thats your right but you're not going to be able to come back and get a job. You better not get hurt and you better make it in the NFL (which stands for not for long) because you can't come back thats the way it is. He said you better want to live in Gainseville or Tuscaloosa. Cited Chase Clement who got a job at a construction company. On the other end cited a friend of his who went to A&M and couldn't get a job back in Louisiana. Made a joke saying "I'm and idiot and I run one of the best restaurants in the area".

Paraphrasing...

Basically said, guys who stay in state will be taken care of after football. You go elsewhere, don't expect to come back and be accepted with open arms in LA after football career is over. You stay in state and people will look out for you forever.

By going somewhere else you are saying Louisiana is not good enough for you.

It's the same for regular professionals. An LSU grad isn't as likely to get a job in Florida or Georgia.

Saban used to preach that to Louisiana recruits when he was at LSU. He "forgets" to say that to them now.

yep he told Clayton not to make a 4 year decision but a 40 year decision. Clayton did the smart thing as he was quickly out of the NFL and back working in LA.

Yeah. What "opportunities" exist in Louisiana that can't be had in any other state?

Alhtough, I can see why he'd plead his case.

Case in point:

Nicky Hazard - big $ job in liquor industry
Tommy Clapp - big $ job with United Rentals

Absolutely were handed these gigs since they played for LSU. (Not just a favor, these guys are like celebs when they walk in a LA business so its great for their employer also).
