Aleah's Vault for the Sea Games. This will be a plus for vault next season.

That would be a great vault in the lineup. KJ said they likely will showcase the double next season.

So again, I wonder, did Jay play the long game this season, knowing it would be exceptionally hard to compete even if we threw out all of the difficulty on vault

Really don't think so. If that had been his intention, he should have given way more competition experience to the youngsters, to prepare them to be leaders next season.

So I know most of y’all probably saw Victoria Nguyen is transferring out of ga. Would y’all be interested in picking her up? I think she would a great asset to beam and bars. What do y’all think?

On a side note does it piss anyone else off that on the main page of this site they only show fb, bb, and mens basketball but they also put up dam Garth brooks? I mean if they can put his concert up why not gym, softball, t & f and any other sport. Seems a little sexist no?

It may just be because of the coaches at UGA but Victoria has a past of being chronically injured. With who we have coming in, unless she’s able to stay healthy throughout the season, I don’t see how she would make a lineup, as much as I would love to have her on those two events. I think she’s more likely to end up in Florida or Ohio State, given where the people she’s closest with go to school.

The Advocate has an article with new quotes from Jay & update on some injuries.

Kai had shoulder surgery. Livvy is also having shoulder issues but is putting off surgery.

Well for her sake I hope she goes to osu because she’ll never make lineups at Fla. I also noticed when she posted that a bunch of our girls liked the post. And if Jay is going to continue to bring our freshman in slowly then victoria could come in with college experience already. Also I would love to see what he could do with her bars!

I hate to say it, but I don’t think Dunne will ever be a big contributor going forward. I had much bigger expectations for her than what we have seen.

She’s said she has a torn labrum (on a tiktok live). It happened on Senior night but she was determined to finish out the year in the lineups for her team. I think postponing surgery is a bad move for her

Are you a doctor or something?

Unrelated but I think it’s very telling that Suni is apparently making a decision on whether to come back next season or not. I understand the trying for 2024 thing but she could easily still do next season. I’m starting to think the college experience isn’t what she thought it would be OR that she realizes she’s set for life and doesn’t need this experience

Like I said - I hope she’s done. There’s already enough craziness in the scoring without her

Uncalled for response. But to answer your question in a professional manner, I am not a doctor, however my brother is. He watched meet with me and saw the injury happen in real time on the TV. He out loud said that it looks like a torn labrum. She also most likely had her shoulder checked out by trainers and or a doctor on and/or near the LSU campus which is how she was able to report that she tore her labrum, just as I said in my original comment:

As a former collegiate athlete, someone who was chronically injured and put off having surgery for 4 years, I can tell you that the longer she puts the surgery off, the worse the injury will get, the more likely she is to reinjure the same thing in the same way, and the less likely she will be to compete the rest of her college career, in the same way that Reagan wasn’t able to compete beam this year due to her back.

Well that's not good news. I was hoping we would see her on all but vault next year.

Yea I was actually thinking of Madison Kocian. She was never the same even after her surgery. Hope that’s not the case for livvy but I wish she would go ahead and have the surgery.

Edited to say I would definitely love to have Victoria now!

I was thinking of Madison too. She competed at the Olympics and her freshman year with a torn labrum, then was in and out of lineups after her surgery for the next 3 yrs.

Looks like both Suni and Derrian are back for another year.

Derrian, definitely. I think time will still tell about Suni (I read that article that's floating around and it sounds like things are still very much up in the air for her, I think - more of a take as it comes scenario)
