It's absolutely beyond me why these super competitive, highly-skilled elites are willing to commit to a program where they'll be lucky to compete on 2 events. And even with all this talent I'm doubtful Jenny will get them a natty. Just insane.

It may be that the elite girls know each other well and therefore want to commit to places where their friends are. I can understand this though I really wish some of them would pick other programmes. Leah Clapper for example would have been an AA star at literally any other programme (except maybe UCLA).

Looks like LSU will have two open scholarships for 2022. My hope is for Selena Harris and Leanne Wong.

Elena Arenas

Haleigh Bryant

Olivia Dunne

Christina is training vault and Alyona has changed up her routine construction so far.

Some of the recruiting targets have been updated (mostly 23 recruits)

I added Emjae Frazier to the 2022 recruiting list although that would be a tough pull given where her sister is. She has been in contact with Florida as well.

Addison Fatta has LSU in her top 5.

Konnor McClain is Jay's top recruiting target of 2023

Tigerbait357....what are your feelings on the new coaching staff? Also, will ACK be back in her same capacity or taking time off with her new baby?

I'm very excited. It has been a very smooth transitioning because everything was built towards this moment. DD retired with such class. No country wide farewell tour or taking away from her athletes. She made a person choice in light of what was going on and did everything to make this coaching shift effortless. Retaining Bob was a no brainer, he is one of the best vaulting coaches in the country.

I like adding Gnat. They brought Gnat on because she was a giant face for LSU's program as it exploded onto the national stage the last 5-6 years. She was a big asset as grad assistant coach while at LSU. Her being so young, creative, energetic and can relate to young athletes will be a big plus from a recruiting perspective. If she can make small adjustments to routine construction and work on polishing up the choreography, she will do more than fine for us coaching beam. She will have her pick of the liter talent wise to work with.

Jay is taking over a great situation. The super sophomore class with that freshmen class will lay a strong foundation these next few years. Plus there isn't massive attrition like he experienced after Suzanne stepped down. I think LSU could take the next step if they work on addressing overall routine construction and get back to keeping kids healthy. The freshmen class is in great shape and should provide a big boost to the team this year. We have not had a healthy freshmen class in years.

She will still be involved in the same capacity. She did take some time off since she just had a baby. I can't comment on choreography quite yet but Ashleigh Gnat would be able to help some on that end for more creative ideas. She did so at PSU.

Good to see that they hired Gnat. When she was on the sideline following her graduation, I just felt like she belonged there and would be back at some point.

I also feel like if/when Bob wants to retire, you already have a builtin vault coach in Bugs. Its a win-win for sure!

Good to have the gang back together! Things are moving in the right direction with the young talent. They also seem to be a very tight knit group like the Finnegan group was.

I am really excited about this year (assuming everything keeps going forward and there is a season). I think we might have a real shot at the whole thing this year. So many other top programs are experiencing huge deferrals in their incoming classes related to the Olympics that there are holes and an opportunity for us. Meanwhile, we have three people that, for the first time since the team helmed by Hambrick, can really add to our consistency (and perhaps the others as well, they are just not as widely known). Even when Finnegan, et al., were seniors we still struggled with consistency in the first few lineup spots. I am hoping these girls will give us the consistency boost we need (especially if they stay healthy!)

the key moving forward is just staying healthy. Last year, LSU was throwing out way too many routines that typically would never make a lineup due to the injury list. Getting Kai and Alyona healthy w/ this incoming class IMO will make major difference this coming year. The beauty of this freshmen class, despite obviously being very talented, is they are well rounded on each event and will add to the overall depth. LSU has not had a healthy freshmen class since Edney/Ruby were freshmen and that has a lot to do with the overall issues with consistency over the last few years.

Haleigh Bryant is expected to do AA with Kiya with Arenas and Dunne giving us 2/3 events each. I expect most of our big scores (9.9+) to come from the freshmen and sophomores. Obviously people like Campbell (beam), Durante (bars), and Edwards (vault) will add onto that as well.

Side note, I expect OU and UCLA to be very good but you simply cannot replace Ross and Nichols. The level of consistency and quality of scores cannot be replaced right away. Plus there were some very strong quality routines that were additionally lost.

UCLA losses: Anna Glenn, Grace Glenn, Felicia Hano, Madison Kocian, Gracie Kramer, Kyla Ross, Mercedez Sanchez, Macy Toronjo

OU losses: Jade Degouveia, Maggie Nichols, Breahanna Showers

Tiger Bait - Thoughts on SEC teams?

Specifically, FL, GA, and AL?

FL lost some consistent performers, but last season was so crazy that I don't particularly remember what is going on with GA/AL (who their seniors were). Also, did Dickson ever transfer?

haven't seen anything about her having a landing spot, but I don't see her on the UGA roster at this time. I hope she catches on somewhere. She will be an asset to someone's team

At this point, I honestly think it’s safe to assume that she chose to retire, especially if she hasn’t announced that she’s transferred anywhere
