Is this possibly where the rumor of a falling out between O and Raymond came from?

Highly doubt it. Raymond just signed extension. And Aranda has the say-so on LB's..... again I think he was just told that he couldnt be an EE, not that he couldnt come to LSU.... so take that article with a grain of salt, its slanted against LSU in a big way.

I hope they play a true freshman at LB against us next season.

Wouldn't be surprised if he played on their special teams.

Any background on this student athlete? He is a LB prospect which is an area of need for us. Why did O back off?

Because there are other LB's higher on the board.

There is something wrong with this kid.

FLORIDA STATE:
quote:

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher topped off the Reids’ exciting day by telling Shanon he was going to offer him a scholarship.

Reid was confused that any Seminoles’ staff member would tell the recruiting site that he didn’t have an offer.

“So then I tried to call Jay Graham, and he wouldn’t pick up the phone,”

MICHIGAN:
quote:

Reid’s family set up an Oct. 1 visit to Ann Arbor to attend Michigan’s game against Wisconsin.

Reid’s family was told that head coach Jim Harbaugh was in a meeting with ESPN, so he wasn’t going to be able to meet with Shanon during the visit.

Michigan also asked Reid to take the English portion of the standardized SAT test, even though he was already qualified.

“The test took like five hours on a Saturday,” Reid said. “We sent it in, but then they never said anything after that. It had to be something with Coach Harbaugh

because Coach (Don) Brown loved me.”

NORTH CAROLINA STATE AND COLORADO:
quote:

Reid thought he was going to take official visits to North Carolina State and Colorado, but both schools fell through with their pledges to bring him in.

LSU:
quote:

But later, after we had dinner, I sat down with Coach (Ed) Orgeron, and he said, ‘We don’t have an open spot for you to enroll.’”

“And it was a great visit, the other players there from Florida loved me.

‘We’ll call you Monday. So Monday, I’m waiting for a call,” Reid said, “and everyone in school is saying, ‘did you get your call yet?’ “

Michigan coach loved me.
LSU players from Florida loved me.

Florida, Michigan, West Virginia and North Carolina State, Miami as well as the teams mentioned above along with Tennessee and Iowa State plus others possibly and the only commitable offers were UT and Iowa St. Iowa St may not have been. It sounds like they still love him though.

Florida State wouldn't even pick up the phone when he called.

Michigan's head coach was in a meeting for his entire visit and wouldn't meet him face to face.

Michigan had him take a test and after he did (five hours) they would even have contact with him.

He was going to visit Colorado but CO decided not to bring him in for the visit.

He was going to visit North Carolina State but NCST decided not to bring him in for the visit.

At least CEO talked to him face-to-face and was upfront with what he told him. He should love LSU and hate all of the other programs who did him worse than LSU ever did and for some reason couldn't even tell him in person or on the phone in some cases.

Wow, interesting post. Kudos for shedding light.
Like I said, take this story with a grain of salt. Clear that all is not what it seems.

Most of what I posted were his direct quotes from the article the OP linked. I was thinking the whole time, how if it was me I wouldn't have participated in the article or would have twisted it around to seem more favorable towards me. He didn't do that !!! Or it was a lot worse on his side than he let on !!!

Strange recruitment for a kid who is that talented to have schools refuse to answer phone calls after one visit or in some cases not even let him visit in the first place - North Carolina State and Colorado ???

It's almost like he has a very strong pungent body odor or something and everybody is afraid to tell him.

There's something strange about that. The entire SAT should take less than 5 hours and you don't "send it in".

The whole LSU thing started on a Friday and was finished by that next Monday. It's not like LSU left him "hanging in the wind" all that time. If he was all that in love with Tennessee he wouldn't have taken the visit.

It would have been great if you could have provided this kids entire name in the title. Not everyone spends their days scouring every Prospect. For those of us who visit this board every now and then to get a little recruiting news just to stay up-to-date, itso hard to keep up

If this dude took 5 hours to finish the English portion of the SAT we don't need him at LSU haha

6'-1" 205 LB. Do not want. Looks like a Chavis linebacker that would get pushed around by bama and arky again.

Reid will have a new head coach at Tenn for 2018 anyway. He shouldn't get too attached to Butch.

Right now Reid is about the same size as Patrick Queen. He's closer to 6-2, 210.

Now hes taking offense to that and making it look like we 'hung him out to dry', which is ridiculous

Hanging out to dry would have been LSU letting him decommit from Tennessee, only to have the Vols fill up their class, and THEN tell him we didn't have room...

He sounds like a guy who missed out on getting with the cheerleader and got with the fat chick instead... and yes, Tennessee fans, you are the fat chick

he's a 205lb linebacker, he would either have to switch to safety or wait a while to gain weight
