You're talking about normal rational people in general...

On this board???... think about the immaturity, doomsday scenarios, and irrational thought of a lot of posters here.

Yeah, it's "us"

Just say you'd like to leave the State and don't blame LSU for not offering when nobody else did (at the time).

Here's the deal. As a coach you have to win on the field or win on the trail.

Either your producing results on Saturdays or fans can look at the future and see the potential

Losing these guys hurts but Kelly has won big early. Make no mistake about jt though- if he starts losing on the field snd these louisiana kids dominate then people will get very unhappy

But recruiting doesn't mean a damn thing if you keep winning

I think it's more of a situation where he refuses to get played in a bidding war. In any negotiation you have to make an offer, or bid.

We're not gonna let a kid, or his agent or whatever use us as a leverage tactic, as much as we can help it anyways.

I keep saying this and I’ll say it again, nothing is set in stone yet and when LSU or IF LSU follows this off-season up with a big historic type of season then a whole bunch of things can and will change. If I were this kids parent, I wouldn’t be asking him to commit anywhere until things became much more clear in terms of programs in consideration tied into program trajectory.

Where are all these programs in terms of trajectory? Are the coaches going to remain, does it look like they can use my talent, how did they help the new players who transferred, how did the freshman class perform or develop, how did my position perform at these programs, how much better are these programs at allowing their players to build their own platforms, how do they all compare with the answers to these type of questions and then what type of NIL future would I have at these programs.

If these parents aren’t considering all the above and more then they shouldn’t be advising these Semi pro athletes. There is no way I’d allow my father, mother or any other guardian to sway my decisions if they themselves couldn’t guide their own lives to a successful outcome.

With the transfer portal and NIL, you are going to see a lot of LA guys leave for the money then transfer to LSU in their second or third year when it’s not as wonderful as they thought or they are losing while LSU is winning. This isn’t a bad thing as they can’t transfer again and you get a chance to see if they look like a complete bust before taking them back. It’s the Aaron Anderson model.

Those fricking losers are desperate.

Sark knows he has 1 yr to deliver.
His 4th Q meltdowns are a topic of discussion almost everywhere on campus where football is discussed.

She could enter "drop" after this year and retire early. She has travelled with and attended all of the McKinley brothers recruiting trips. Mom will definitely have some influence on where he signs.

If she is a public school teacher in LA, then she is no doubt telling him to GTFO of Louisiana.

I think we are going to see this become a common theme, with 2-3 LA guys coming back home via the portal most seasons. It’s a good thing the way the NCAA is taking a hard line on waivers, too. Guys won’t be able to transfer out again until the graduate.

Losing Speedy and Gerald Willis will set us back years. And losing Hootie Jones might be the end of the program. Suicide is my only option. But only after I shitpost thusly.

Easy to say a decade later. Don't act as if there was no melt. I saw it with my own eyes here and on 247(the days and night leading up to). Maybe the threads are still on here somewhere. 5 for 5 boys! That melt was warranted.
Ironically, even though the day was a failure on his part(at the time because we didnt have revisionist history to fall back on), simply landing Fournette is what ushered in the "godfather of LA" bullshite with Frank Wilson. That warped way of rationalization sums up a large portion of this board perfectly. The type of rationality that allows one to joke about suicide or pleasuring themselves to minor aged males yet doesnt allow criticism of a recruiting class full of strangers. Comical and strange.

Speaking of old threads still around and since some want to call people names, maybe we should revisit some McKinley threads from the past couple of months and call out some hypocrites. Would venture a guess that some saying "it is what it is" and "we never lead" now, sang a far different tune then. What do you guys think?

That's a lot of wisdom to ask for from a 17 year old.

If we lose a top in state player to fricking Texas then so be it. As long as the staff does everything they can I can live with it. It’s readily apparent that a number of these kids and especially parents could care less about actually winning than the bags going to places like Texas, A&M and Florida. LSU will continue to beat them on the field more times than not. Kelly will also develop players better than these coaches and kill it in the portal.

This is the most pathetic thing I've ever read on this board, which is full of grown men obsessing over teenagers.

That's bad, and you should feel bad.

BayouBengal, how exactly does NIL work in regards to getting a top prospect to commit? Do they sign a contract or is it all just verbal stuff at first? I asked this in another thread, I'm just trying to understand how NIL works when getting top recruits to come.
