He'll put up numbers this season that should make us all forget about his sophomore campaign. He was well thought of before the injury because he's got the tools and adequate instruction, just needed to grow into the position more. I think he will take off this season.

the coach and Rettig seemed overwhelmed with all the interview requests they got today

He also said that Oklahoma St., Washington St. and a few others were all players to get his commitment until" the prettiest girl in the room", LSU came in and swept him off his feet.

I just saw on 247Sports that he will be playing in the Army game along with Max Browne, Ryan Burns, and Tyrone Swoopes.

Welcome to tiger nation with 500 alumni strong in the Los Angeles area. I happened to go to DeLa Salle in Nrleans for that Christian Brothers tradition.

In addition to his older brother playing at BC, he has another brother, a non athlete, attending Arizona, so there is most definitely no issue with him leaving home. His HSC laffed when asked bout the possibility of a no show in Jan. & said that LSU fans must be really paranoid as he's been asked that same question by 5 different radio shows. He said this kid will "most definitely" be on campus in Jan. He wants the chance to play for a NC every yr & that was one of the main reasons for choosing LSU; loves the competition of playing in the SEC.

I really think he will stick. I think he will be blown away by his visit this week.

Rettig is very crisp and efficient in everything he does. Has been well schooled on the fundamentals of the position. Has good size and a frame that should fill out more. Marginal athletically and needs to improve his mobility in the pocket, but is a guy that beats you with arm strength and timing. Shows good anticipation and understanding on route concepts. Will throw the ball before the receiver breaks. Does not force throws, will run when needed. Makes good pre snap decisions that allow him to quickly read and hit his target. Has nice pocket presence, does not get rattled or force throws. Will stand in and take a hit to make the throw. Not a physical runner. Keeps the ball in a good throwing position at all times. Does a nice job on the move of getting his shoulders to the target. Needs to improve his footwork at the top of the drop. Quick, smooth release. Drops his hands on occasion, something he can clean up and become more consistent with. Shows plenty of arm strength to make all the throws needed at the next level. Maintains his arm strength throwing on the run. Can put the ball on the spot to a receiver in tight coverage. Shows good accuracy on downfield throws, hits receivers in stride. Always in the shotgun. Is asked to run some zone read, does a good job of carrying out play fakes. Rettig is a drop back passer at the next level that will need to develop under center if he is put in a system that requires that. Should receive planet of BCS level attention especially from pro-style, multiple programs. Brother Chase is QB for Boston College.
