Is Wilson in the portal or is this just speculation?

Last year there were multiple Louisiana players available who had some measure of success elsewhere and elected to pursue a new start at LSU. Who are the current Louisiana players doing well at other schools? Hopefully there might be another talented player or two who might want to return home to finish their career. Of course it will be even better if McMahon can spread the net wider and grab the best transfers available regardless of their home states.

I believe Solomon Washington from NOLA starts for A&M at power forward

He’s athletic, but not exactly a great offensive player. Barring a surprise return of Cook, I think it’s very likely McMahon will be seeking a PG in the portal. Mike Williams is not a natural PG and I don’t see McMahon fully giving the reins to a true freshman (Givens). I also think improvement for LSU in SEC play has opened up the door a bit more to a wider option of transfers than just LA player. That really wasn’t the case last year

As a McMahon detractor based on how poorly the team played the second half of last season, I do believe that he has got just about the maximum from his team this season. If he can get the players, he has a chance to be at LSU for a while.

I agree that he should have LSU somewhat more attractive for portal transfers and recruits based on his results from this year. I certainly hope that he can get the correct mix of high school recruits and transfer portal players to have LSU fighting in the top half of the SEC on a yearly basis.

Obviously things could change, but McMahon seems to prefer a "stretch 5". i.e. a "center" with three point shooting ability. He had that with KJ Williams last year and (to a lesser extent) Baker this season. I suspect that will again be a target in the portal this year.

Collins probably fits the definition of a "rim runner". He's not a guy like Williams or Baker who has a refined post game/mid-range game. He's more of an above-the-rim big (think a thinner Kavell Bigby-Williams)

He is a solid player and would be a great get, however I don’t see him leaving as well as I imagine Reed and Fountain will both be returning.

He's already getting good minutes with the #1 team in the nation and has an opportunity to start with Shead and Cryer leaving after this year. Not sure why he'd enter the portal.

Meh, we just need better players out the portal honestly. If he's 1 of 4-5 guys and the other 3-4 guys are more game impacting guys then so be it, but he's been on the bench the last 2 seasons as a junior and senior at 2 more major programs than his days at ULL. He also hasnt been able to shoot the 3 really at all and thats pretty concerning for a 6'2 very old guard (strangely his freshmen year was good at it?).

In the Wade interview he mentioned that he speaks to McMahon on occasion, maybe Wade can send some McNeese players that are ready to make the jump to a bigger program

I believe they have one that may want that opportunity

And?… Wright has been incredibly streaky and is shooting 39% this year. He’s better than most of our options, but to those people’s point, he isn’t a top 3 option on a contender.

Mylik would be a solid piece for LSU if he were to come here

I know we stand to lose just a ton of bodies off the roster, but I don't know positionally what we'll be looking for in the portal.

St Louis U is probably about to have a coaching change. They have a 5th year wing 3 point shooter that still has one more year of eligibility if he wants to use it. Gibson Jimerson, don't know if he'll hit the portal, or even play in college next year. But I wonder if he's a type of guy we'd look at.

ESPN profile

He had three freshman years. He injury redshirted his first one, COVID was his second one. He's technically a junior with 129 games under his belt so far.
