That's just stupid and immature to wish bad luck on a kid because he didn't pick your school. That's somebody's son for Gods sake.

So you're obviously a Bama fan? Do you cheer for Saban to do well as he's somebody's son? Surtain is 18 years old and is now actively playing against LSU in basically every game. The more Bama wins, the more it hurts LSU. I would hope LSU's rivals cheer against the players for LSU because it's the way being a fan works: It's a game. If he's good, it hurts the school I cheer for. I hope he has a long and happy life, but I hope he sucks at football.

You are illogical:
You're defending someone who made an obvious attempt to damage a program despite the relationship built by a coach of that program for 3 years. It was a bitch move, and I would normally not say that about a young man making a tough decision, but If you can't see it, I can't help you.

There’s blame to be laid on both sides here... Although I agree it was a dick move by Surtain Jr. to wait until the last minute to inform CEO that he was headed to gumpland, CEO should have had a contingency plan in place which included if he did not give his commitment in a week in advance (it could have been silent) then the next plan should have been to accept Mario Goodrich’s commitment and move on. It’s as simple as that!

Well I'm sure you will get to enjoy a few more national championships with your new team then. You do have that going for you.

And even if you gotta pull a commitable offer at the last minute, it doesn't hurt you that bad in Missouri. You can't do it in your home state, but you can with out of state talent. If O was fortunate enough to pull the offer from Goodrich because he landed everybody then so be it, and Goodrich would've been ok.

Good God man, get it together, you sound like a lunatic

Bama is currently putting guys in the NFL at the same rate we are plus the added benefit of competing for championships every season. Sorry its just a better pitch. Not to mention there's the whole instability look of the program from the outside. I could see the anger if Surtain was a local kid but he made the best decision for himself and his future as he saw it. We aren't comparable programs right now, that's just a sad fact.

People can piss and moan about us being his leader for 2 years but the fact is he was never committed to you so it was stupid to assume he was a lock, O is the fool for not seeing that and being left with no back up plan. Your anger should be directed at him for once again getting left at the alter without a solid plan b.

Les Miles does not coach defensive backs. Neither does O.

Les Miles ran the program that they played in, which gave them legitimate chances at championships.

All 0 would give them is a shot to play in a middling bowl game.

Let the kid go to college where he wants, it his life to live. HE doesnt owe coach o or us anything. He is talented worked hard and earned a scholarship from any school in the country. He picked to go play for Bama, end of story.

lol, more ignorance. Ok, let's stick with Raymond, Collins, Mills, White, adams, etc. are doing so poorly because they weren't groupies.

So you are saying it would be a bad thing to let your son play for arguably the best db coach in the land.

I think the point of the thread is not that the groupie chose bama but how he disrespected a coach that invested 3 years into him. Justify that character all you want. It says more about him and you than it does anything else.

He's 18, old enough to serve in the freaking military, and is considered an adult. Time to start acting like one.

No, you don't make him go to a school he doesn't want to, but you tell him that you're not going to leave a guy (Raymond) high and dry because you can't make a decision. You've had 3 years. You're going to decide a week before the deadline as a matter of professional courtesy.

What if employees gave their bosses 1 day notice before they quit? I guess they're entitled to do it if they want, but good luck ever getting a reference from that boss.

The player is ultimately playing for the head coach's program, not the position coach's program. He will get probably the same level of positional coaching at Bama on top of eminently better head coaching, in addition to a chance at winning championships.

All it says about him is that he was torn about the decision and let the staff know once it was finally made.

Au got on chase late, 3 years wasn't invested and they were never in the lead. Totally different circumstances. That's like lsu being upset with Goodrich. totally different.
