Regardless if he has a game or not, he would not be flying to BR. Woodward would be going to him, and at this point, it would be his agent he would be meeting directly with, not Riley.
Plus HC candidates rarely ever visit the school/city in person before being hired just because of the timing and secrecy of everything. Meetings are normally held at neutral ground places between the parties.

Frankly, I think he was referring to Petersen and it was always going to be Petersen that was getting the first call and first opportunity at the "make him say no" list. I also think he said yes not too long ago. The rest is due diligence just in case a better candidate currently coaching has interest. Barring that- Petersen it is.

Actually there was a flight made from college station to Norman this morning, meaning that Jimbo was interviewing for that job while Riley was in Baton Rouge. Things move quickly so pay attention.

Woodward cannot wait till the end of the NFL season and especially the Chiefs in the playoffs. And announcement has to come right after A&M so I doubt it’s somebody in the NFL who would leave in the middle of the season.

The announcement has to come as soon possible, but if the best coach for the job can't make an announcement until later in December, then so be it. We don't need to be settling for a lesser coach just to salvage a few recruits in one recruiting class.
