I think it could very well mean that we know 1-2 of our OL that are entering the portal after the game tomorrow.

Moscona has said for a couple weeks now that someone close to the program has told him they expect to sign a starting Tackle and starting S from playoff teams

Who is the other lineman after Thompson? This isn’t insider it was from his presser today apparently.

This turned into a teenage, name-calling cat fight four or five hours ago. Is this really the way you "adults" want to be be perceived?

No it doesn't. It could mean some players are planning to jump in the portal after the bowl. It could mean we had someone in line to join that we had NIL allocated to that fell through and now we have additional space. It could mean they reevaluated the available OL in the portal or what will be in the portal and realized they would like to get more than the original number thought. None of our young OL suck. They may not be ready yet and we need to stop gap, but you are talking out of your arse if you are saying they "obviously" suck.

He wants more experience available. We have lots of talent at these positions but not a lot of experience.

Experience isn’t a guarantee that a guy will win a job. Cam Wire and Tremond Shorts had starting experience going into 22. Both lost out to younger, but more talented players.

Cushenberry was horrible until his senior yr. Damone Clark was horrible til his last year. Brandon Taylor was very bad his first year as a starter. Guys get stronger, improve, and game slows down. Chester at guard, and mubenga another yr in weight room, dont give up on tigers.

I would also think the current OL knows BK wants to add more…. They already had exit meetings

That’s great and all but there is no guarantee that will be the case next season

We all want Adams and Davis to be the next all sec tackles but if they aren’t ready, wouldn’t it make sense to bring in experienced players to take their place?

As the roster stands today, their backups are just as inexperienced. CBK wouldn’t be doing his job if he didn’t shore up the oline with veteran transfers.

It is painfully obvious some of you still have a pre-transfer portal mindset when it comes to recruiting.

Roster management is now more important than roster development. If players aren’t ready to be big time players, you go pay for guys that are.

I never said that would be the case. I just provided a recent example that shows experience doesn’t always win out.

We want depth and added depth experience so whoever wins these jobs has to work their asses off to win and then keep them.

when and where was this quote?

most probably before Thompson commitment

It was after. And I've been trying to tell yall they would take another tackle.

Someone on here tried saying the last o linemen they were taking was Thompson. Not the case.

I thought the portal closed for everyone on Dec 28 except for playoff teams/HC change

I mean at some point you have to get these guys playing time right? If not they will leave as RS SO or RS JR who have never played more than mop up duty and go somewhere they can get time while we continue to bring in guys with experience.

At some point the guys have to earn playing time. Competition is a good thing. It makes guys work harder, and it helps the cream rise to the top.

If all other things are equal then sure, play the younger player. But that’s rarely the case.

Some of these guys are going to leave as RS SO and RS JR no matter what. That’s just the nature of the game nowadays. I think you can get into trouble trying to make roster decisions based on who is likely to transfer a year+ later. Just my opinion, though.

Everybody gets a 5-day window after their last game, whether it’s in the CFP or any other bowl.
