then I’d rather they just shut the program down

So shut down everything (baseball too). Because without football there is no athletic department and no LSU in SEC.

A better TCU squad than he beat got blasted 65-7 by UGA in the title game. Are we relegating ourselves to that bar? I'm no hater of Deion and wish him well but his beating of TCU doesn't instill confidence that he found some cheat code no one else can. What he did do is outcoach TCU. Kelly can take lessons from that.

We can bid all we want, LSU is not matching Texas or Florida schools. They have wayyyyyyyy more money to pool from. Louisiana is a poor state

How did we get a coach 10m a year after a $17m buyout? How were we paying a DC nearly 3m a year? State of the art facilities? There isn’t a funding problem, the coaches are just making poor decisions. Kelly is more worried about kids being aligned with his culture than bringing in talent. You can’t go full Jimbo in recruiting, but you have to pick the right battles.

Alabama has been running circles on growing citizens and businesses for years. Politicians like Blanco or JBE wouldn’t stand a chance of getting elected in Alabama. There’s a reason LA is the only southern state losing population (now the 3rd lowest in the SEC states). Eventually LSU (with all its built in advantages) suffers for LA being a shitehole.

This is the shite that really annoys me about this site. Some of you are totally clueless as to the money around the LSU program but spout things off like this as fact. Even if what you said about Alabama and LA is true, (it’s not, LA has attracted a ton of industrial development) lots of LSU alumni in other states who are loaded with cash.

LSU has plenty money to compete in NIL, just like they did when everyone was paying players under the table. Kelly just needs to spend it.

Neither is House a good DC. Both the coordinators suck.

This is board is so full of ignorance on LSU with NIL. They absolutely can compete top 5 with it. They already are. Your problem is Brian Kelly and what he wants.

Take a look at FSU recruiting since Norvell took over vs lsu. We had a top 5 class last year and FSU hasn't even sniffed the top 10. We were outcoached last night. There were no adjustments after half time either.

Exactly. Watching the game, you would have thought FSU has being recruiting at the level of UGA, bama, Ohio State, ect. The fact is, they’ve been hanging around the 20s, as far as class rankings go. The problem is, if they end up going 12-0 or 11-1, this loss won’t look as bad. If they go 9-3, and lose 3 in a row like they did last year, it’s a bad look. All we can do, is take it one game at a time.

People keep repeating this like it means something. It doesn’t.

All these schools throwing around money have a small handful of people footing 90% of it.

You have to start getting elite talent.
FSU'S DAMN NEAR ENTIRE TEAM IS THE PORTAL! QB, RB, 2-3 OL, both star WRs, TE, starting DL, and at least one starting corner to my knowledge.

FSU is a flash in the pan because of the transfers. It sucks, but we literally caught them at the worst time. It always kills me how back when Bama was playing good teams game one, they'd catch them at the worst times. Penn St, Michigan, USC, while we catch FSU, UCLA, and others on an upturn.

Unless Norvell rebuilds his entire team from the portal this next offseason, they are going to be below average next year.

Makes me just want to go fishing. NIL is a joke in itself. Bunch of greedy arse boys that think they’re worth all this money and haven’t accomplished anything. Start spending money on academics where it’s really needed

shite not to mention Edmond (via S Carolina) a back up Jack LB for FSU

FSU destroyed LSU in the portal

And for those that say LSU had a higher ranked portal class: LSU’s top portal transfer didn’t even make the travel squad

Maybe so, but it's not going anywhere. If you want to be competitive in major college athletics now, you gotta pay up. Nothing wrong with guys and women getting what they deserve after athletic programs make millions off their name and likeness. I just don't like how it's handled. Needs to be a cap on it. But it still won't stop the under the table stuff from happening. That's been going on for years.

LSU is also funded by the state and trust me, they will find underhanded ways to steal taxpayer money towards the university. They will not let the athletics sink. They do it by grey areas not illegal means and of course, booster backings but often times to the boosters get something out of it. Like contracts for their business.

Yeah everyone on the recruiting board says it’s okay and we shouldn’t bid with the big dogs.

People on the board aren’t saying not to throw money at players or get in bidding wars. Kelly said he’s not doing it.

In 2022, the real gross domestic product (GDP) of Louisiana was 217.16 billion U.S. dollars. This reflects a decrease from the previous year when GDP totaled 221.15 billion U.S. dollars.

In 2022, the real gross domestic product of Alabama amounted to about 213.26 billion U.S. dollars. This is an increase from the previous year, when the state's real GDP amounted to 209.98 billion U.S. dollars.

Kia, Mercedes, Thyssen Krupp, Airbus,

Do you think any of these companies give to Alabama Football NIL?

Yellawood is Auburn.

We have 1-2 LNG facilities that cost more investment than those facilities you stated combined. With more coming thin the future.

The topic is NIL.

Sad part is, coaches across the country are begging for regulations on pay for play. They are all in favor of NIL once a player is on campus, but these ridiculous payments to 17 year old high school seniors to sign with your school is slowly ruining the sport.
