Even if we go 1 for 6 this year, hit the portal in the spring for a player or 2 and save 4 spots for next year after a 9+ win season. To even be considered in these guys top schools was a win for this year after transitioning and having only 2 months to work.

But a coaching change in the season never helps. New coaches can only make up so much ground in a month or two. I'm sure throwing around money like A&M would help any coach succeed.

We’ve done pretty well in recruiting over the years. All things considered, this staff has done an amazing job and we def have momentum going into next year. The sky is not falling.

I like your optimism, but it feels like some of these (Mathews, Citizen) were because we couldn’t bid as high as other schools. Something has to give or things could get rough.

If you think .500 over past two years is alright, then sure.

NIL has changed everything. Next year and beyond will be more of the same. I may be losing interest in college football...

Going 11-12 is the definition of “alright” I suppose

I aim for higher

Much different. It’s apparent to anyone with a pulse that NIL is putting LSU at a huge disadvantage in talent acquisition outside of the portal

Citizen was not a huge loss. We have a solid RB room, with a couple big potentials next year. Of the 6 targets today, he was the least critical.

If we continue to expand our NIL services, I think we'll be fine going forward. It's already impressive how far its come along in only the last couple months.

This year has some validity. Entire coaching staff change and the uncertainty of the season after what we just saw this past year. One season of stability and consistency will help steady the ship more than what it already is.

It wasn’t for lack of talent

Whats going to change next year? You think LSU suddenly has the funds to out bid A&M and Bama. Yeah right.

We either figure out some great NIL deals or Louisiana will get heavily poached every year.

We’ve got A$M on one side and Bama on the other and they’re taking all the talent out of LA they want.

We’re either going to compete in NIL and keep our talent or we will be middle of the pack SEC for the future.

I’m sure they wanted Walker Howard, will Campbell, Emory Jones as well but they’re tigers
