My take on this is yes we seem to be struggling a bit with recruiting, but the players we are recruiting have not committed to anyone else yet. Like most have said, a later run will probably happen. LSU will be fine.

There should be lots of dominoes falling over the middle to back end of the summer.

Kelly is the worst recruiter we’ve had in over 20 years. If he doesn’t win 12+ plus games a year he won’t get top level recruits because he’s not likable. He hasn’t been here a full year & already faked a southern accent at a basketball game & made a cringe-worthy mini rap video where he’s dancing off beat with a recruit that he didn’t even sign

Louisville just got the top RB in the country from Texas
I know there are rumors it’s a Zach Evans 2.0 recruitment, but legit heard that for the first time moments after this happened. All I’ve seen is UT and Aggie fairies saying they backed off.
Any background if that’s true and if LSU backed off? Kid ran for 3k yards last year at 4A level. If true he legit is Evans 2.0.

Yeah we should’ve kept Ed

They are crazy if they did. I’d feed him the ball 25 times per game

Never recall Western Michigan ahead of us in the rankings when Shrimp Boat Captain was here. JMO

How many of these were out of state with no ties to Louisiana and a top 100 recruit?
2021 recruiting class-
Eleven out of state 4 star players enrolled at LSU. Five of them were top 100.
2020 recruiting class-
Two 5 stars and ten 4 stars were out of state recruits. Six were top 100, two were top 15.
Maybe you haven't been paying attention, but for the last two decades only Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State have recruited better than LSU.

If they grow any more they won’t fit in your mouth comfortably as you usually like it.

Here’s the difference. Other teams are in consideration for the top players while LSU is nowhere to be found.
We haven’t been a top team the past two years so that’s how it is. I can’t blame recruits for thinking other teams are more likely to get them conference and national championships

Grab about 30 each (.5 mg alprazolam) and (5 mg diazepam) from the ole doc. Then take 1 or the other for the rest of the summer, when these feelings come over you. Everything will be just fine. Lol

No, Coach O would be balls-deep in sluts in Destin at this time and we'd have about 50 scholarship players.
God you people are such little kids. Coach O was an elite recruiter and still is. That’s proven so why argue about it. What happened to LSU with Coach O has nothing to do with his recruiting or lack of. It’s had everything to do with him winning the national championship with the greatest team ever, having to replace 85% of his starters from that team and having to replace just about every coach who helped him get there, all in the same year as the COVID 19 BS and the racial tension that grew.
All was new to him, all was hard as frick to do in a perfect world and our fanbase dumped on him constantly. That’s a proven fact based on his 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 results. It fell apart after all these things occurred. I have no idea why this fanbase feels like it’s necessary to dump on the previous staff? He did a really good job here until 2020 and still never had a losing season and kept it close with Bama almost every year.
I believe his fire went out after the championship season and combined with having to pull it all back together was just too much for his abilities at the time. Idk all the personal crap he had to go through but he also went through a divorce. That’s not easy! So who gives a shite if he wanted to go find a pretty young blonde for a GF? He got his money for winning a championship and he left LSU.
Kelly is a completely different type of coach and is what is needed at this time. Coach O is what was needed at his time of hiring. He did a decent job of it for a few years, beat Bama and everyone else while getting to hoist a trophy. Now he’s going around giving speeches and talking to these kids. I cheer all our coaches until it’s their time to go. I hope when that time comes for any LSU HC, he doesn’t fight it and leaves when that time comes. Coach O did that. Kelly will bring new life and get LSU back on top where we belong. Coach O did the same. Stop being little babies about it.

Elite recruiting is irrelevant when you display the ability to have 0 roster management capability. He absolutely skull fricked LSU on depth which is why we have our current issues now. He did not do a good job at identifying the need positions and filling them every year which is why we had gaps in depth. That's something Miles was very good at doing they would look at their roster and identify need positions and fill them. O had a more take the highest on their board even if it overloaded a position and you can't do that. It shouldn't be a problem either with an 85 man limit. You can recruit elite and still give good roster management.
He's dumped on because he wasn't qualified for the job when he got the job. That's not up for debate. That was the most underwhelming hire LSU could've possibly made. You say he did several years good for LSU but his problems built up over years until he couldn't get over the obstacle anymore. He was bad at roster management and he was bad at hiring coaches. He struck out on coaches more than he got right and he hit lightning with 1 big hire in Brady. His best moves were Brady and his non-moves like Aranda being on staff or just promoting Ensminger from within who could mold well wit Brady. He made some awful coordinator hires otherwise.
You have no idea how lucky he was Bush was on his staff to bring Burrow here. Miles hiring of Aranda was the biggest non-hire O had to do because 90% of the time he displayed he couldn't make a good hire. Aranda saved O's arse through the years. If he was not here O would've been fired years ago. He was in over his head from day 1 is probably the luckiest coach ever in NCAA history. His time at Ole Miss could tell anyone with a clue except Joe Alleva that. He did exactly what he did with his time at Ole Miss to LSU which is what got him fired over there. Thank you for the championship O but it's just calling it how it is and there's no shame in it. Even O said he realized it last year.

ALWAYS nervous, it’s a good anxiety, just love crewting period. I’m glad we got CBK and staff is awesome, I don’t bad mouth the coaching staff just always want more. Cain & Polin killing it so far. I hope we get Sampson, J Brown would be huge bonus, wanted D Williams & J Ausberry but it’s no fault of this staff. Always nervous about recruiting, following and predicting it in solitaire is my own personal passion. LSU doing bad in recruiting, is not something I cherish like some people, but if you think I deserve some crow I’ll gladly eat it fried with salt & pepper. But being nervous is not melting, I love this sht and will gladly take any sht you can shovel as long as it does LSU Recruiting good. Bring it On!
