NC St QB MJ Morris transferring

Per himself, LSU has reached out and has interest in him.
Started 4 games as a true sophomore, went 3-1 and retained his redshirt. Would be good competition for Nuss and has 3 years of eligibility left. Was overall inconsistent on the field but the film looks good.

So the staff must obviously have confidence in Nuss if this is the qb they are pursuing in the portal considering all the other options.

LSU has to take a QB regardless, but will we take an elite one or one that needs a lot of development?

Right. It was always going to be pretty telling who they pursued in the portal.
A guy like this signals confidence in Nuss.
But they 100% need a portal QB with some starting experience.

After Daniels, it's obvious Kelly prefers a mobile QB
With Nuss you could still utilize Morris in a running capacity while he waits to develop and take over from Nuss
I would feel much better about the backup QB position with Morris for sure.

That's how I see it. A QB that seems to have a lot of upside and already played a lot of RPO but not a big enough name to where it seems like we're not confident in Nuss. Seems like a clear backup / insurance option incase of injury.
I watched some of his film. It's limited but dude could be a legit option for us as a bridge between Nuss and Underwood.

Wouldn’t pursuing Dante Moore suggest the same thing? He just finished his first year, and if he’s already in a position to beat out Nuss, then it is what it is IMO. You could sell to Nuss that you’re bringing in a young QB to develop.

Only watched 1st link highlights. Yeah I hope they add him has nice touch and strong arm. Nuss and him could really push each other to be better.
