Wow I did not know that that type of thing was going on. What are they pawning off as NIL? Or can they just hand cash over now with zero "product" from the athlete?
Several players are getting paid as long as the state allows it.

Royal will be a superstar. He reminds me of Deebo Samuel.

But at a certain point, spending that money on 3 very good portal players is more impactful than 1 amazing player out of high school.

Regardless of this is true or not, LSU should have a cap

WR’s aren’t an issue at LSU

Kids used to want to play for a school and/or HC that gave them the best chance to win a national championship. Now, it's all about the money.

He would likely go to a place like Pitt if they paid the highest.

feel like if there ever is a high school kid you overpay to get, it’s Easton Royal. He is the real deal. Would be the next great LSU receiver.

Could have said the same thing about Speedy Noil. Not saying Royal will be a bust but at some point it’s not going to be worth it. I’d actually prefer him go to UF than Texas and I trust LK and Glasscock to figure out how to spend the money elsewhere

He’ll garner more fame with much higher visibility at LSU which would in turn increase his overall value and marketability.

If all he wants is money, than LSU isn't the right place for him

Guys like DeVonta Smith are set financially, but are nobody when they come back to Louisiana, unlike Chase, Jefferson, Nabors
etc. It may not matter to him.

I'd rather more Jordan Seatons from the portal than this kid.

You want both.

A gamebreaking RB and an elite WR make you a completely different team.

Obviously, we need to continue to improve the OL.

He is 17 & would start for lsu this year.

He’s thick and strong, can track the ball, has long arms, and runs a 10.1 100m. He’s one of, if not the best WR prospects to ever come out of LA.

One of the recruiting guys, maybe Shea or Spiegs said he's more advanced than Jamar Chase was at this point in HS. Also threw out Devonta Smith comps which was strange since Chase was more physical and Smith probably was seen as an elite speed and route runner. I'll take a combo of both though.

Yeah people on here aren’t really understanding the kind of prospect Royal is. He’s a legit game breaker immediately as a freshman.

No sense at all in blowing the budget on this kid. I think he could be special, but way too early to do this. If you get to the end and have some money left over, then sure.

If not, roll that into the portal.

Well, Trey'Dez was our #1 and is hurt. Still putting up record numbers on offense.

Lane's system gets the best out of every player, not just a few.

Green was your 1 - TE though

I just don’t think LSU should break the bank for a WR

How embarrassing to leave the state and your friends and go to Florida for a slightly larger bags and not play for one of the top offensive minds. It’s like he doesn’t trust he can make more money than that in the future at WRU

I see the same thing your saying..I wouldn't break the bank but either thru high school or transfer portal you need 1 dawg..Now we maybe successful thru the season with someone different stepping up based on match ups and scheme game to game but a school like LSU has had a dominant receiver on average years. So yes they need one!
