Smith lives 66 miles from MSU - basically an hour drive

he lives 313 miles from BR - 4.5 hour drive

NIL $ likely came into play as I wish Smith the best if he stays home

I'm not knocking them for staying home. Just a general statement on how hard it is to get them out of state.

Confirmed this prediction is based solely on Smith’s relationship with Zak Arnett.

It’s not based on new inside info - truth of the matter is that Smith hasn’t reached a final decision between LSU and Miss St. (but is expected to reach that decision later this evening or tonight).

LSU is still alive in this recruitment - Word on the street is that Smith has been torn between the two (2) schools since leaving Baton Rouge on Sunday.

Smith has admired LSU since childhood - grew up idolizing Tyrann Mathieu, Jamal Adams, etc. On top of that, he’s pretty tight with Khai Prean (former LA Bootleggers 7v7 teammate), who was recruiting him hard during their campus visit last weekend.

Of course, it is true that Smith has a long-standing and strong relationship with Zak Arnett. Couple this with the geographical advantage, and it’s going to be a tough pull to snag Smith away from State - but it is still possible

I know. Regardless where Smith commits, it’s not easy to sign Mississippi prospects. Breeland Speaks, Leo Lewis, Jamal Peters, Willie Gay, the list goes on and on.

You can't fault a kid for wanting to stay close to home. Some kids want to stay close, some see it as their opportunity to get away. If you're a player, the NFL is going to find you wherever you're at, and regardless of that, there's the transfer portal now, so it's not a 4 year decision like it used to be.

Well when they appointed D Coor head coach for Miss St, that was Smith main recruiter, and they have already lost out on the the TOP 4 Mississippi player, They’re all in on Smith he’s #5 in Sip and he’s a MUST for the Bulldogs new staff.
