Sure, the team can add players anytime before the 1st game if they are enrolled in school. They have to be enrolled by 2 SEP, otherwise they can't practice nor participate in games until the Fall semester ends on 17 DEC. I think anyone enrolled can be added to the team at any time.

Deadline to finalize basketball rosters. I know it’s stupid, probably an old rule they just never changed or was kept for late add ons and transfers.

The original question is what is the deadline to add a player, and ChatGPT stated that the initial roster has to be submitted by 1 DEC or the first contest, whichever is first, but that roster can be changed at any time afterwards. So there really isn't a deadline to add a player, so there is no final roster.
I actually answered a different question, which is what is the deadline for a player to be eligible to be added to the Fall roster. Since players have to be enrolled by 2 SEP to be part of the Fall roster, that is the deadline to be eligible to be added to the Fall roster.

I believe most rational and objective observers would recognize the difficulty of coaching and recruiting the first two years under the cloud of NCAA investigation and potential draconian sanctions, followed by the loss of two starter to injury / illness the next two years.
John Brady has two SEC titles and a Final Four, yet many " fans " on this board wanted to run him out ot town. Thankfully Tiger20 was always there to set the record straight and expose those gotta have a villain people who were around then , just like today.

What is the source of said rumors? Are the foreign players actually signed yet or is everything contingent on NCAA clearance? Have foreigners at other schools been cleared?

The NCAA does not make international player eligibility decisions public. Usually, the school will run some social media signing post around the decision. There are grumblings from coaches that the NCAA is slow-walking the process this season. Looking through some exhibition box scores from the past week or so, it doesn't appear that any incoming internationals have played.

It boggles my mind people would rather have our previous coach than will wade as our coach
LSU was NATIONALLY irrelevant for the last 4 years, the WORST team in the SEC for the last 4 years
I’m not usually one who supports firing of coaches, but the previous coach NEEDED to go
