Anyone worried about Max Johnson's completion percentage numbers should check out what he has to do to complete passes on a team that struggles with protection... Pretty amazing play last night.

Exactly. Team around him has been pretty bad the last two years or so. He’s a legit QB prospect imo.

Jeez, how are his knees going to survive a year of that though. Gotta block, scrubs.

And that was just left handed. Imagine if he used his right hand...

I saw him personally at the elite LSU football camp and he is plenty good to play at LSU. His HS team is terrible. He has great coaching in his dad and his little brother who is a sophomore TE was one of if the best underclassmen receiver/TE at the camp. We will be just fine with Max if he wins the job

Reminded me of Archie Manning. He was constantly under pressure with the Saints. Only difference is that when Archie was pressured and being dragged to the ground, and threw a perfect strike, the receiver would drop it.

That’s the kind of things he’ll have to do in order to complete a pass here too, so I’m glad he’s getting some practice in.

That was all last year. The dude is constantly getting pressured in less than 3 seconds. It's amazing how well he can play under pressure. At LSU he will get more than 3 and 4 seconds to throw the ball, it'll be a relief!!! Recruiting sites don't take this stuff into consideration at all. If he had 4 or more seconds to throw the ball, he'd be a dang 5 star by now.

Damn. The second view shows how much the ball curved in perfectly. Has he thrown a baseball?

Also number 3 should sit the next game. Totally gave up on the play when he didn't see an initial pass.

Bad enough that the o-line whiffs on some blocks, but to have a big wide receiver just give up on top is just inexcusable

There is a reason he was getting a shite ton of offers as a sophomore / junior.

Looked athletic on that read-option.

Only in your dreams. It's going to be so funny watching LSU kick arse this season knowing there're people like you wanting them to fail so badly!!!

I don’t want them to fail, my friend, but if you recruit the O-line the way that we have the last few years, any quarterback will have to be able to use their legs and buy time in order to get a decent pass attempt off.

How many sacks did we allow last season?
