Watched this tape again just now. Man he looks good. Comfortable playing single high on passing downs and in the box sifting through traffic in the run game. Immediate contributor on special teams. What stuck out most to me is his recognition. He barely ever takes a false step which is huge for a safety. Patiently flows towards the play, and when it’s time to shoot, he fires and hits like a ton of bricks.

Moves like Delpit, but hits hard, too.

A 315 power clean is very impressive regardless of if you did it in high school (which I doubt but it’s possible). Go into any of these CrossFit gyms were they do Oly lifts all the time and almost no one is cleaning 315. 1% is only 1 out of 100. Take a 100 people of the street and I doubt more than 1 could clean 315.

This kid should be a gunner and special teams stud day 1. We need more guys that contribute to the team, and do the little things right.

I mean if you saw me it wouldnt be surprising. I just don’t think it’s the top percentile if three people in my grade do it. I never said it’s not impressive bc it is but it’s not 1 out of 100 impressive. If you just take the kids who played sports that involve a lot of lifting (football, wrestling, powerlifting) that’s like 3 guys out of 40 ish But I did say that none of us were nearly as fast as him so for his speed+strength I’ll bite.

Don’t they do sets of multiple reps all the time though? Just bc I can max something doesn’t mean I can do it 20 times.

Right but 100 people aren’t high school athletes. We’re talking about top percentile of high school athletes and really just football players tbf. Max Johnson had a video on his Twitter power cleaning 315 in like April/May. I thought I read that Emery was doing 325 leaving highschool?

I mean this in a good way...this kid plays like he's an a-hole. LSU's defense can use a few more like him.

Yeah we did, y’all are just some weak arse dudes lmfao

One of the aforementioned friends was a state runner up power lifter.

My legs were tree trunks back then. If it’s possible for me to post a photo on here from my phone I’ll do it and include a little note just for you Lester. Besides if you saw all three I would not be the guy you doubted to do 315.

Looks like he will be a star. Much better than Ryan Clark’s son. Glad he got the LSU offer.
