I believe the 2022 Class will be a huge year for OL, LB, CB, and Safeties.

9 five stars? Jesus, son.

analytics show that most colleges (pending a massive meltdown) usually have insanely talented classes the year after a natty. LSU has always been a place to go for elite DBs to earn the title of DBU, LSU is close to becoming WRU for good, and could lay claim to DLU and LBU soon enough. If not recognized nationally, at least in the SEC.

I'm not doubting, I'm hoping you're right haha

I believe that in addition to LSU just always being an "it" school in terms of recruiting because of our success, coaches, culture, personality, and fanbase, I think elite players are really gonna just start coming here of their own volition because of our track record of developing NFL players.
LSU has a legit chance of having 10+ players drafted in a few months, and LSU has the most players in this year's Super Bowl from any one college. Once these 17/18 year old kids realize that we can do that at each and every position, now including quarterback, then they'll head on down to Baton Rouge.

Great post! Nice job, I know this is about as accurate as it gets when it comes to recruiting. I know we don't sign 9 5 star recruits, but when it comes to recruiting and the way the staff approaches recruiting, you go after everyone available and the most talented. I do not remember the last time we signed a 5 star offensive lineman though, that would be nice. Heck, I don't remember the last 5 star D-lineman (Tyler Shelvin probably) but Coaches do a fantastic job of evaluating and developing 3 and 4 star recruits into All-SEC players.

I agree, LSU really doesn't need 5-Stars every year to be successful, the only offensive 5-Star we used this year was Terrace Marshall, and he was the number 3 receiver (due to injury) behind Jefferson and Chase. Our coaching staff has always developed underrated recruits into NFL steals

I added in some "confidence levels", as in, my version of a crystal ball.
these are likely to change rapidly over the next few weeks and months, and as we get commits, visits, offers, and interest, I will update them accordingly.

I know there was talk about how cold are WR class could've been this year and don't get me wrong it would've sweet but with Burton and Jarett dropping I can see us putting in one hell of WR class next year with some of these kids, our currently committed WR is the 111th ranked prospect and I wouldn't be suprised if he ends up being our 4th best WR in the class

Caleb Williams said he was committing before his senior year right? He was bummed about LSU losing Brady.

Just because it deserves a friendly neighborhood bump

He told me within the next 2 months would probably be his commitment. He said it's gonna be a hard commit, and there's no way he'd flip.
He'll probably make a top 3 or top 5 list soon though.

I don't see Coach O going after many OGs this year due to the sheer amount of depth at the position currently, but I can see him going after a Louisiana guy out of New Orleans.
We signed only three offensive linemen - two interiors - in 2020. Orgeron BETTER go after lots of guards in 2021. If not we better get very lucky on the ones we signed.
Also, your confidence levels are ridiculously high. I appreciate that you're an LSU homer, but I'd take bets, with odds equivalent to your confidence levels, on every one of those guys, and I'd win big.
Great job, though, listing all of these. If I could offer one suggestion: it would be cool to know where these guys are from.

Nice.
I didn’t know that.

Just came back to review this again. Appreciate your work. Some thoughts for discussion are that it feels like we need more than 3 Oline, and more than 2CBs. Also, will take 2 QBs, not 1.
Curious as to why you have as many WRs on your list? Your list of WRs is quite a collection of talent, but too many to take in 1 class. Also, I think Bech ends up a 4 star and probably in this class. Some tough choices ahead.
Thanks for your work.

According to 24/7 rankings since 2001–14 of our last 20 recruiting classes have been top 10 nationally, 9 have been top 5, 6 have been top 3.
I am thrilled LSU can finally start having elite recruits come here! And on their own accord !!!!

Doubt it. We have 4 and just took 2. No need for 6. 2 will just transfer out. Especially now with the portal. If unexpected losses happen we can bring a veteran through the portal.
