So, who do we think baws? Jacoby Mathews coming on down? Gregory Brooks transferring? Or just a case of him being optimistic for JM?

Also, peep who he tagged in the tweet. JA already putting in work :geauxtigers:
watch his get-off on back to back routes starting at about 1:30 in this highlight.

Dude has a body built like Terrace Marshall but seems to have the agility of 2019 Justin Jefferson in terms of getting in and out of his breaks. He could very well become an unstoppable force if he gains 10 more lbs of muscle and continues to gain speed.

How did this legend about Calloway start?

From what I remember, a few players (including TJ Finley) mentioned him by name in press interviews, lauding his help in game preparation. I specifically recall TJ shouting out Russ after the South Carolina game, after which Coach O was asked about Russ' role with the QBs and how he helped TJ. Same thing may have happened with Max, but I can't be 100% sure of it.

Not to mention, there was a video of Russ hitting the Griddy in the locker room after one of the games.

Link to TJ's SC postgame interview, talks about Russ starting around 0:30, for a few seconds: video

count them off for me then. it seems that my upvote-downvote ratio on most of my threads seem to objectively disagree with you. just because you think something's dumb doesn't mean it is.

just because you've been here longer than me doesn't make me stupid and you infallible.

and wow man, calling someone a ruh-tard, you are so incredibly cool and funny, please have sex with my wife.
hey idiot, like I said before (but I guess you can't read being that you didn't understand it the first time), I worked in D1 Football Recruiting for MULTIPLE YEARS and was on a University Payroll for it. To go so far as to discredit me just because of what you THINK you know is ludicrous. Would you like me to dig up my old pay stubs and my old emails with recruiting directors?

you are acting like a petulant child. remove yourself from the board since it seems that no one here agrees with you nor cares for what you have to say. provide up-to-date information about the state of the football program as well as recruiting, and then we'll talk about you maybe upgrading from a child to a preteen.
he's upset over something I said on a different post over a week ago. he needs to learn that you have to have short term memory loss as a sports fan. he now discredits all the information that I present because he got his feelings hurt. pay no mind to him, he isn't worth your time.

multiple times now has he called me out as "the shittiest poster on this site" or that I "suck as a poster", just because I don't share the same opinions as him. read through his previous posts, all he does is bitch and complain.

I wouldn't read too much into that. He cycles his social media profile pictures every time he goes on a visit. He used to have an LSU, Clemson, and Penn State one, all right after those visits.

But look, if Garrett Nussmeier wants to commit soon, I would gladly take him. In fact, I would much rather secure Nuss and see if Caleb actually wants to come compete here, than wait for Caleb to make a decision before accepting Nuss. Nuss is quite a bit more developed as a pure passer than Caleb, while Caleb actually very much fits the mold of an Oklahoma QB that Lincoln would love to get his hands on. I don't mean that as me giving up on Caleb, but rather as an objective fit for both teams. Compare his skills with the past OU QB recruits, then compare Nuss' skills to Myles Brennan and Joe Burrow.

I got the clarity that I needed.

He and his family sound pretty impressed with the visit. Lincoln Riley is very much pulling out all the stops to get Caleb. After reading this, it definitely confirms my suspicions that Lincoln wanted Caleb all along, and may have told Brock Vandagriff to explore his options while he was originally committed to OU. Lincoln wants Caleb badly, and it seems that their visit may have pushed OU a little higher over LSU. We'll know more after Caleb visits Baton Rouge again.

His father says they will definitely return to Oklahoma in the future.

Shone Washington - 247Sports Profile

Disclaimer: This tweet is probably the most vague wording ever. Took me a good few minutes to understand whether or not this was a commitment or an offer, but it seems to be just an offer.

He's a big kid, at 6'4, 290lbs as a HS Junior, and will likely have other big-time offers roll in soon. He calls himself the "Best DT in the 2022 Class", neither Rivals or 247Sports have a ranking for him yet.

Looks great. Taking Jacob Phillips' old number, and he wears it well. Devonta has the potential to be the next in line of freakish LSU linebackers.

Brennan looks accurate and confident.

He'll become the true leader in the film room and the Saturday players-only practices.

I don't know if you saw it, but Myles said in an interview yesterday that they've been practicing players-only since the weekend after the national championship. This team will be special. Myles has finally come into his own as a player and leader and I couldn't be more proud of him.

Where's Peter Parrish?

officially absent from today's practice. if he's a no-show the next practice too... then I think you can assume the situation.

the ball really flies out of Brennan's hand

agreed. Myles has one of the prettiest throwing motions I've seen in a long time. In his limited pass attempts as a freshman, you could tell he was trying to strong-arm everything and neglected to use his lower body. Thanks to Coach Moffitt and his staff, Myles put on a great amount of lower-body muscle and really drives the ball with his whole body. Such a huge improvement, and even something as simple as throws on air has me ecstatic for this season.

Thoughts:

Myles looks GREAT.

Max Johnson is bigger (height-wise) than I originally thought. He also looks pretty polished as a freshman.

TJ still looks quite raw with his throwing motion and lower body.

AJ Aycock and Walker Kinney both looked pretty good as well. I genuinely think AJ could earn a scholly in the future.

Peter Parrish was absent from practice. Not a good look considering it's the first day.

Also, right before the 4-minute mark, the video shows running backs running routes out of the backfield, which I know is a concern after losing Clyde. Watch what Ensminger does after TDP drops a ball, great coaching.

side-note: you can see a player (I think it may be Marcel Brooks) in the background wearing a #9 jersey. I know some people thought the jersey wouldn't be used this year, so there ya go.

Ja'Marr in his #7 Jersey at Practice
Damn that looks great on him. Watch him after he drops a ball, doing push-ups.

More Team Drills
A bit of the same footage, but including LB and WR drills. Trey Palmer and Jontre Kirklin looking good, Marcel Brooks looking DAMN good.
a lot of people aren't too familiar with Jontre, but he very well could take some wildcat snaps at QB much like Taysom Hill. he has fantastic athleticism and was a QB in high school. having added wrinkles like that takes pressure off of Myles as well, and would be hard to defend for teams that haven't seen anything like that.

Great segment. Couldn't be happier for Coach Mickey and his family for the promotion, and you can tell he really loves LSU and Louisiana.

Also, he mentions the current status of the receiver room, especially with Ja'Marr Chase and Terrace Marshall, then mentions "Racey is our number 3 receiver right now", and then mentions Trey Palmer, Jaray Jenkins, and says he's really impressed with Jontre Kirklin's development and he's a possibility to come in and make some big plays in-game.

totally unrelated, but hey does anyone want my Ja'Marr Chase #1 jersey? looks like I'll need a new one

too much pressure on the kid.

so... being the consensus number one defensive back in high school, starting all 15 games as a true freshman after Greedy Williams for a school that is known far and wide as the greatest defensive back factory in the country, getting 2 interceptions in his first post-season game (SEC Championship), and being named a 1st Team All-Freshman, All-SEC, and All-American isn't as much pressure as wearing a certain jersey number?

ok
what if they switch it up and go special teams?

Cade York for #7
