2.) Any talk of LSU even looking at a WR now on other rosters is tampering.

Fan speculation on a message board is not tampering. No one in this thread said LSU needs to pursue this course prematurely.

This is just fans talking.

That article isn't accurate, I believe they confused Watkins and Billiot times. I confirmed this with Terrebonne T&F coach when I first saw this article.

Yea he’s mistaken for Watkins. No slight to Billiot, he is fine athletically. I think he was a high jump guy

We may take one… but we’re pretty stacked. A G5 guy like CJ would be great but we have the dudes.

At 6’3 and his size too. Are we redshirting him bc he is raw? I know we are deeper at wideout although we have been hit with some injuries

Yes he’s kinda a Brian Thomas type. Gifted athlete but prob needed a year to polish his wideout skills.

As long Underwood on roster, LSU will be talent at WR position.

This is a horrendous take lol. Billiot ran a 10.27 100 meter in high school. That isn’t just good speed but elite speed the kid is a burner

Go find me a confirmed track time of 10.27 on the 100 for Billiot before replying . Horrendous take my arse

Agreed, Aaron Anderson will be #1 or #2. But we'll need 1 more guy

We better hope Mason Taylor comes back too
Zavion Thomas is stupid fast, but something isn't adding up.
Shelton Sampson is confusing the hell outta me
Trey'Dez Green will take another year to be a top dog.

And hopefully Sampson can develop and live up to his potential instead of getting frustrated and going to the portal.
Jelani Watkins is another

No….one is a legit Olympic track star….the other is basketball player. Treydez knows how to perfectly box out the corner and make play. We got a stud in him

Harbor and Green are both WR in TE bodies. Harbor isn't burning kids down the field on go routes this season. His biggest play was a back shoulder box out for 30 yards.

Harbor is 6'5 235
Green is 6'7 240

Harbor has 11 catches, 104 YD, 1 TD (31 yd and TD on one play against Bama)

Green has 4 catches, 30 YD, 2 TD

Would he be nice to have? Sure. Do we need him at the price he'll be asking? Absolutely not. Get an actual wide receiver that will stretch the field and consistently catch balls.

Daniels isn’t actually out of eligibility. This is his 5th season but he has one extra year from the Covid season and another from the year where he only played 4g.

In any event, it’s starting to become difficult to imagine Chris Hilton leaving after this injury-killed season, so your starting spot is probably Hilton+aaron Anderson+zavion Thomas+kyle Parker plus billiot and Sampson and jelani Watkins as guys who could potentially break out. And that’s even before you account for pimpton and Trey’dez green, both of whom—green in particular—could be massive weapons, regardless of whether you call them TE or WRs. You also have a fantastic passcatching back in harlem berry coming in. That’s another malleable piece that can be used just as a general “offensive weapon”.

When you boil it down: Could we stand to add a proven stud “#1” type WR? Yeah, sure. Just like the vast majority of teams. But to my eye, our group of passcatchers as a whole looks like it will almost certainly be an above average unit in our conference and in the country as a whole.

On its face, this looks like a good comp, but it’s really not. Harbor’s problem isn’t that he can’t beat guys deep with speed - it’s that he’s a stiff, straight-line athlete who can’t run a full complement of routes (or even close to a full complement of routes). Although Trey’dez green had only seen limited action thus far, it’s been more than enough to see that that’s *not* a problem for him. He moves almost scarily well for a guy his size. Hell, he had a big 3rd down conversion on a SLANT yesterday. You dont win on that route if you’re stiff. His 2pt conversion catch was also on an in-breaking route. Does he have the legitimate 4.2/4.3 speed that harbor has? No, he doesn't. But he has tools that harbor doesn't, too - and his are far more functional.

I’m telling you - Trey’dez green is going to be a problem in an lsu uniform. Idk if it’s next year or when, but at some point he is going to become a matchup nightmare. And even if that fully realized version doesn’t quite materialize yet next year, I am pretty confident that he’ll at least be a positive player

I’m sure Cam Coleman isn’t really thrilled with Auburn’s QB’s. But I like the WR room next year.

I feel like LSU 100% needs a transfer guy heading into next year. Love having Anderson and Daniels back potentially but outside of them, too many unknowns. Will Hilton come back (and stay healthy)? Will Billiot take a step and become a guy? Are we out on Sampson since he hasn’t shown anything at all? I do love having Green out there more next year though. And at this point, I don’t expect that Watkins will be ready yet next year, and it seems Zavion would likely be the one who gets those types of plays anyway. Feels like this team either needs a guy who can stretch the field with speed, or a Caleb Odom type receiver who has monster size (seems he may transfer out of Bama).
