I’m getting hit up by a lot of my non LSU friends laughing at how much of a joke college is now.
Wade and Kiffin didn't create this game. They're just playing it and playing it well.

I'm all for LSU getting the best talent possible but this whole landscape has gotten stupid.

We are already the villain to most people out of state. I'am ready to embrace the pirate mindset and screw the national narrative. Hey Dick Vitale.

Wade trolling the NCAA with this roster. I fricking love it.

Now this is good news!
Hope he's granted eligibility.
but the signing of pros to college sports now is so ridiculous. As fans though we’re very fortunate our program has deep pockets and we have coaches that know how to take advantage of the rules and loopholes. No one outside of any programs fanbase ever remembers how you did it, only that you did it so hopefully this leads to immediate success and frick the haters

Eligibility needs to be worked out. He never played in any GL games.

Wade is putting together a hell of a roster all the while sticking the middle finger to the NCAA by pushing their own rules to the absolute limit. What a turn around.

I say we have the court date set for date of first game so that our judge, aka the governors cousins sisters boyfriends brother in law, can rule appropriately that he is eligible and then its less time to delay the NCAA appeal before end of season

The Charles Beadiko case (at Alabama) illustrated the distinction (for now).
There were players who were on college basketball rosters last season who initially went straight from HS to the G league, then to college. Those players weren't necessarily "drafted" by a G-league team. They signed with them. The distinction is that none of them played college basketball prior to "retuning to college basketball" like Beadiko briefly did and was eventually prohibited from doing.
Wade obviously knows more about the situation than I, but I have strong doubts Luis will be eligible.

He might not get cleared but there is clear difference between Luis's case and Beadiko's case. Luis has never played in a G league or NBA game. Could end up being the determining factor.

Regardless of the ruling on whether he's eligible or not I appreciate the dedication that this coaching staff and administration are making to the basketball program. That's a win in itself. It tells me the future will be bright even if it isn't next year.

While there is that distinction, it's likely not the determinative factor. The issue with Beadiko was not that he played in G league games. There are multiple guys who played in G-league games who played CBB last season. It's that Beadiko previously played CBB before trying to return...like Luis.

quote:From what I gathered, the precedent set by the NCAA with Bediako is that they deemed him ineligible after a few games because he signed a two-way contract with the Spurs. They specifically stated, we will not allow players to play in college if they signed an NBA contract (including a two-way contract).

RJ Luis did not sign one of these contracts, nor did he ever play in a G-league game.
We'll see what happens, but you can't compare him to Bediako apples to apples.
