Who are we not going to offer and who are we going to be able to take.

According to Jason Jewell of Scout, Les offered this kid.

Daniel Carlson

Just assumed I was the only one still getting Scout.

I'll wait for anyone with LSU connections to confirm this before I believe we offered.

Yes. He will have graduated and we will only have one scholarship kicker on roster.

ok just watched his Kohl's kicking camp footage. He's the shite. At 6'5" he gets great leverage on his kick offs. LINK

Les loves his kickers. This is a spot I can definitely understand using a scholarship on. Kicking is very important with our style and in the SEC. We've been fortunate with our success with kickers.

Agreed VA. Almost invariably, every four years, LSU's leading scorer is our kicker. Also, with all the close games CLM coaches us into, having a great FG kicker is critical and this kid looks like he's nearly NFL strong already. Accuracy is another question, but I got the sense from the video that he was kinda the star at that camp. He has to be pretty special to offer a scholly to.

Why do we continue to complain about such offers when they are integral to field position and how much we've been helped by quality special teams under Miles.

I trust Les on kickers... The big question is what's his 40 yard dash time?

I wasn't complaining. It was just the second big, "were the hell did that come from", moment of the night with the fullback offer too. Before these offers and the JC tight end were known, the board was wondering how we were going to get all of the DE's, DT's & DB's on the board in the class.

This just came out of left field because no one was talking about signing a kicker. Recruits we finish up with

After the recent success, no one should question scholarship offers to Punters/Kickers

eta - not saying you're complaining

Yeah, I'm sure he can kick the hell out of the ball......
But what kind of taunting skills does he have?
