Says he down to just us and TT with decision coming soon. Hopefully all the bad pub and drama with TT lately was enough to scare him off

Just my two cents and purple and gold tinted sunglasses but if he’s committed to a school and has to make a decision between the school he’s been committed to and another school, he’s likely flipping to the other school

So do we use that same logic with Easton Royal and Greedy James?

before NIL, i'd agree... but now, these are negotiation tactics... the "interest" in another team doesn't really mean shite, so it's hard to get truly excited about something like this, and especially this early in the process... he could choose LSU over Texas Tech this week, only to end up with Florida in the end.... this era of recruiting absolutely sucks

It can only be LSU if he decides "soon"
Because if it's Texas, he decided months ago

Kid is Jalen Carter 2.0 who was an absolute game wrecker for Georgia on their great 2022 team. One of the few guys that are worth what they want

So wait…now you have to “buy out” a kid before he even gets to campus???!

If he signed his NIL deal then yes. Remember the quarterback from Washington that was entertaining going to LSU and they were looking into his buyout.

I have heard of this happening. They are starting to pay them in high school so the school that flips them has to deal with the money they have already received.

I was wondering about that too. I was thinking maybe Tech payed him all or part of his NIL already, so we have to "buy out" what was paid...and maybe a little more? I'm speculating here...

Hope he commits to LSU but that doesn't necessarily mean what you say..If you follow recruits over the past few years you will see they commit to a school take visits and if someone else makes a strong enough push for them they will make a final decision as they say.

That was a 2 year college deal in which he had fulfilled half of. Nothing to do with HS nil.

Correct. Currently only 5 states don't allow it, Alabama, Mississippi, Hawaii, Indiana, Wyoming. Different rules and circumstance based on the state. Missouri allows particular advantages for kids committed to instate schools, in Texas you must be 17, etc. However, most dont allow university infused NIL payments to HS kids. Yet most do it anyway. People with money generally know how to launder it.

Has nothing over the last couple of years showed you that LSU can hang with anyone when it comes to funding recruiting/coaching? Are we still rolling with the narrative that LSU is the only big time school with no money?

Are all of these top players and coming to BR for free? For fricks sake they have multiple coaches getting buyouts, signed the top coach out there by taking him from his team while in the playoffs and then had the top transfer portal team for like $40 million and a top 10-15 recruiting class. This doesn’t happen with only middle to high income fans donating a thousand dollars here and there. This happens with wealthy donors and LSU has them.
