How do you know this? I’ll just throw it out there that Girard is coming too.

Time left to go get some guards to fill a sec roster. But if you get Phillips and miller to stay you can get out of last place in conference.
Force miller to a pg role, use his strength to take care of the ball. Phillips and the new 7 footer could gobble up boards and protect the rim.
Crazy to say, we don’t have a superb scorer, but have a very deep, defensive, and athletic wing group.

Assuming we get Girard or CS we are set at PG and will need a guard to play off the ball. I think Miller plays that roll fine, but I highly doubt we can keep him.

Cook, Girard and Stewart all give you more value than Miller.
He's better off somewhere else. Sorry, but it's true.

Stewart, Cook and Girard would be great, but we will need at least 1 guard with size, whether that’s Miller, Amaree or someone else.

I'm willing to bet that if we land Stewart and Girard we will not be using our last spot on another guard. It would almost certainly be spent on a rebounder/rim protector.

Has to be. Right now that's the biggest hole on the team, and it'll kill us if we don't fill it.

Do we have a shot at a better rim protector than Phillips? If not, can we get him back?

You don't absolutely need a "rim protector" to be a good defensive team. But you do need some size and, more importantly, rebounding. Right now LSU's frontcourt is Baker, Reed, Chest. Chest is athletic, but it is hard to assume a true freshman is going to come in and be dominant on the glass or defensively. The other two guys, Reed and Baker, aren't particularly great (or at least consistent) defenders or rebounders. LSU MUST get leaps and bounds better defensively. Otherwise, they will still get beaten like a drum...only in higher scoring games.
EDT: Forgot about Fountain. He was arguably the second best player on the team last year and the second most consistent behind KJ. He was just as good a rebounder as KJ, and a better offensive rebounder. He was also solid defensively. Still, LSU could use one more "big"...even if he is strictly just a rebounding/defensive guy.

UCLA Interest In Raequan Battle
Montana State guard RaeQuan Battle has already heard from UCLA men's basketball since entering the transfer portal Friday, according to a report from Recruits Zone on Saturday. Alabama, Kansas State, Texas, Oregon, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Utah State, South Florida, Oklahoma and Cal have also reportedly been in contact with the 6-foot-5 wing.

LSU has reached out to this guy and if I were them I would go all out for him and Stewart
You're right. I think we need more BR boys, and Stewart fits the bill. You won't hear me argue against an athletic 6'-5" wing either. We still need a big to help Baker and Fountain. I'd love to get Phillips back as mentioned.

Forgive me for not knowing, but how are these kids who’ve transferred once already gonna be eligible right away if they are leaving a place voluntarily where the coach wasn’t fired and there has been no NCAA sanctions levied?

The NCAA issued a memo a couple of weeks ago clarifying the 2nd-time transfer situation, and it appeared to be pretty restrictive. However, it doesn't seem to be deterring folks from transferring, so either they are ignoring the NCCA memo or have been told not to worry about it.
