I bet Days is the only guy out of the starting 5 back although none should leave early IMO

I agree. They and Memphis are becoming thorns in LSU's side when it comes to recruiting, or though it seems that way.

Right now Smart and Days will be back, Watford if hes not a 1st rounder.

Williams is gone, he had a kid and wants to make money now.

If we got back smart days and Watford it would obviously be huge.

I love Watford but no way he’s a first rounder right now. I think he comes back and Emmitt goes pro given he just had a kid

People always say things like this and it's silly.

That baby is the cheapest it's ever going to be right now. It's only needs are food and shelter.

He needs to do what he can to maximize his earnings long-term. If that is to leave this year, then fine. If that is to stay, then fine.

A baby, who doesn't care if it's clothes come from Goodwill or Gucci, should not change that.

Watford is gone. No chance he returns. He could easily play his way into the 1st round.

Days (SO) - Will return
Smart (SO) - Will return
Watford (FR) - Enters Draft
Edwards (SO) - Walk On
Mays (SN) - Graduates
Williams (SO) - Enters Draft
Bishop (FR) - Will return
Manning (JR) - Will return
Graves (SR) - Graduates
Taylor (SR) - Graduates
Hyatt (FR) - Will return
Starks (JR) - Walk On
Cooper (SO) - Will leave/Not Brought Back

Above is just my hunch on what will happen. I'm thinking we will have 5 scholarship players return from this years team. That leaves 8 spots open for this recruiting cycle. I know we have already signed Thomas, Cook, and Ezewiro. That leaves 5 scholarship spots to fill. I know Wilkinson has been mentioned several times in this thread. I'll assume we have him, but who fills the last 4 spots? I think its safe to assume Wade will get a JUCO player or two. Isn't there rumors that a 21' player could reclassify?

I’m just expecting everyone to leave since they all entered the draft last year. That way I can’t possibly be disappointed

great list/post. plus, Deshawn Thomas came and went too.
I hope Bishop stays, but i wonder if he will since he doesn't get any PT.
we really miss Manning. it feels like you need 8 or 9 guys contributing to go deep in the tournament, and it feels like we are 1-2 guys short.

I think he sticks around, supposedly been battling a lot of injuries per Wade this season. He's a natural scorer and Wade will probably always have a spot for someone like that on his teams.

Cooper to me is just an odd man out, dont think he'll ever be a contributor here. It's his 3rd year in college and he cant even get on the floor unless it's a dire situation or a total blowout.

Per what people have said, he's not thinking NBA right now. Think he's finally coming around to the fact he's just not playing anywhere near that level and needs to improve his consistency a lot. He just has too many bad games unfortunately. He's got NBA game, but his 3 point shot needs to much work for him to ultimately get drafted.

I pretty much agree with this but Watford is a better chance to come back than people think if he sticks with his "wont go unless 1st rounder" approach. IF in fact Watford returned, just for fun, he's the lineup for next year not including walk ons:

Senior
(1) SF/SG Charles Manning Jr.

Junior
(2) CG Javonte Smart
(3) PF Darius Days
(4) PF Josh Leblanc
(5) PF Courtese Cooper

Sophomore
(6) SF Aundre Hyatt
(7) CG James Bishop
(8) PF/SF Trendon Watford

Freshman
(9) SG Cam Thomas
(10) CG Jalen Cook
(11) C Bradley Ezewiro

Leaves 2 spots open, potentially 3 if you replace Cooper which I think we will (or if Watford leaves). Could be as many as 4 spots still to fill if Watford went pro and you replace Cooper.

I think we get SF Mwani Wilkinson and hope we can grab C Frank Anselem and he reclassifys. For last spot if it's there I bet we find a PG in transfer market. Not seeing any great possibilities in JUCO market for PGs right now and the 2020 class is very slim pickings on pure PGs at this point. Seems easiest to look to transfer market there.

I agree. His decision doesn't seem to be nearly as set in stone as Reid's was last season. At no point last year did Wade say anything but the fact that Reid was going to be a one and done. You haven't heard nearly as much of the same talk about Watford.

Plus, Watford isn't 6'9" (even if they have him listed at that height). He's going to have to be more of a wing at the next level and though he's been good this year, clearly there is room for development. If I had to guess, I'd still say he goes. But I don't think that decision is 100% made at this point.

I also think Smart could really help himself by coming back and getting another year being the primary ball-handler under his belt. That's what he's likely going to have to do as a professional as I just don't know if he's a consistent enough shooter to play off the ball. Still, I think he's made up his mind this is his last year and it might be hard to change it.

Going into the season I though this year would be a bit of a transition year for a good run again next season. Thus far, Wade has completely blown those expectations out of the water!

If Smart returns, I can't see this.

Jalen Cook is the real deal and could start at the point if needed. I'm not sure Wade's opinion on Bishop, but with Cook, Smart and Bishop, that's three potential PGs.

Based on losing only Williams and seniors:

Watford
Days
Smart
Manning

That would leave an opening for a point guard, unless Smart played that role and Manning played Mays' current role. That would leave a potential opening in the post.

If Smart leaves, I could see a JUCO or grad transfer PG, as you suggest.
