LSU signee Mitch Seward pitched 10 innings and allowed one run on two hits with four walks and 10 strikeouts in 154 pitches.

He threw a no hitter earlier this year. The way his coach is abusing him, he seems like a prime candidate to red shirt.

Hopefully he doesn't go too hard this summer. He's already got a scholly nothing to prove after the HS season.

I will never understand the ego of some high school coaches to do this to young arms. Its fricking high school ball for Christ's sake.

Its their job, guess wasting the arm with worth it to them to ensure they keep their jobs. Doesn't make it right though

If you think thats bad the pitcher from Jesuit threw 193 pitches. Both coaches are morons.

I disagree with the notion that potentially ruining kids' arms is ever part of the job of the high school coach, though I understand the concept.

It's just plain disturbing.

That's horrible.

The coach should be fired.

This sort of thing happens more often than you'd think. The 5A state tournament usually has at least one stud pitcher that throws 2 games' worth in 2 days

No game is that important. Especially at the high school level.

And that coach is usually heavily criticized by the baseball community. It's deplorable.

lol you'd think rummel and jesuit, out of all schools, especially would have enough pitching depth to never make that an issue

The Jesuit pitcher Emerson Gibbs is a Tulane signee. Wonder what Rick Jones thought of it!
