That 34 number will be daunting when the year comes where that is the true number. A lot of coaches complaining this year about how taxing regional weekend is on pitching. Its gonna be wild when rosters truly sit at 34.

There is my 1 extra then. Missed that. 52 is the current number.

Hunt’s making a good point on the radio right now. This freshmen class has so many fringe players to the point he’s got to hold back somewhat if a couple of those big fish fall a bit.

Unlike in years past there will be playing time and NIL he can promise right away.

He's not committed anywhere that I can tell, but he's pitching in the Appy League.

I didn't realize we were still expecting Yamin to be on the roster next season

Yeah I’m wondering about this too

Could Yamin realistically compete for a spot?

He is such a team player, I'd love to have him around, and he is great to have as a 3rd catcher, but I'd imagine it would be hard to have a spot with all the incoming freshman

thinking he could compete for an outfield spot at least as a platoon

I think he would've entered the portal if he planned on leaving. Belding is our only incoming recruit that can catch. But, I don't think we'd pass up a guy like Savoie in the portal, given he has some position versatility. As far as competing for an OF spot, that really depends on who makes it through the draft and how Jay approaches OF positions in the portal after Bino. I don't think Jay would pass on another portal OF. I would say alot of moving parts could impact Yamin's status.

I do agree that he's been a good Tiger, but not sure he really ends up with a spot here. He doesn't really fall into the developmental bucket that Jay has referenced. We'd have to stay put at catcher and OF, lose almost all of our OF recruits, and basically go all pitching in the portal from here on out to justify him on the roster.

If Jay pulls Savoie to play a corner OF, that might be his best recruiting job yet.

Several schools who are very active in the portal need a catcher.

Stanfield was that guy we just got him for 2 years. I still maintain that if he doesn’t get hurt the first weekend then our season plays out very differently.

It was all on the pitching and catching or lack thereof.

Team morale fell apart when the offense went cold vs McNeese while Stanny was out. Pitching wasn’t great but not awful until 3 weeks later when the offense got rolling again and then the wheels fell off of the pitching staff.
