re: LSU Baseball 2026 (and beyond) Recruiting Thread

A few notes:

- Briggs McKenzie called him after the 3rd round and said he was coming to school. Then he called him the next morning before the 4th round and said "sorry, the Braves are giving me $3MM and I'm signing"

- Said LSU is going to handle the draft a little differently this year. Jay only wants guys who are "going to play at LSU" and it almost sounded like he got burned last year by too many guys at the top of the draft.

- Snelling and Crawford's family both called him after the 2nd title and said while they're happy that they're in the big leagues, they somewhat regret not going to college.

- He met with Park after the Milam announcement and he's still locked in. Sounds like he'll play third based off of context clues.

- Mentioned "17 returning players" So I guess I have to follow this up with my best guess of the 17. 41 total players anticipated on the roster.

- Said "a few guys called and said they didn't want to come because they won't be able to play" and that honestly sounded like he was talking about HS guys.

- Referred to the returning "left handed pitching group" which leads me to believe all of Plog, Williams, and Lach are back. Maybe Garcia?

- As others have said, he mentioned multiple IF from the recruiting class but not Weistein.

- Ricken is going to make 2 more outings in the Cape and then come back to BR for offseason work.

- Sent Ruckert/Patrick to CA so they could get more work. Hitting 1-2 in the order every night.

- Serna was a team USA invite but the injury in the SECT made LSU hold him out and recover.
