Sorry, I was talking about incoming freshman. For example bringing in a portal outfielder might hinge on what Moss does.

Did we hear something about Jackie Robinson Stadium not being used by UCLA next year?
The land the stadium is built on is owned by the VA. All VA property is supposed to go toward the benefit of our veterans. A judge ruled that the stadium doesn't do that, so they may lose access to it.
I can almost guarantee I have the facts incomplete, but that's the gist of it.

Well that shouldn't be surprising I guess. Unfortunate though.

Blaine Brown from Rice to Tennessee.
The Grego kid is apparently getting a ton of money from Arkansas.

Get the feeling that Fauske, Young, and Ebel are no shots.
Don't love seeing McKenzie that high. LSU is desperate for LHP.

Which is funny bc I was listening to the D1 podcast the other day and they couldn’t help but mention how “LSU has all the money to go out buy talent” when talking about our resources and success
Maybe I have my homer ear plugs in but it sure seems like they don’t talk about other major programs like that when it comes to the transfer portal.
LSU is painted as going out and buying the best talent from the portal yet other sec schools seem to have gotten some pretty high profile players from the portal the last couple of years and the same assertions aren’t made.

The two Texas schools and Arkansas definitely spent more $$ in the portal than we did last year.

I’d bet Tennessee did too. But I don’t recall anyone on espn or D1 speaking about those programs in the same regard about “buying transfers”

Briggs McKenzie has definitely caught some helium recently and seems to be working his way up lists. They have MacKenzie Gore as a comp for him. He had some uptick in velo this year and supposedly spins a really good curveball. From a few videos and things I've read it sounds similar to Griffin Herring for LSU fans to have a comp.
Would be a really good get through the draft if he makes it.

Those two catchers are sitting in the danger zone too.

All of them in the Top 150 concern me.
Really hope guys from Hamilton and Paz on down make it in. Maybe we get lucky on 2-3 of the Top 150 guys.

No Zac Cowan in the top 600 seems ultra surprising
Frey seems a bit low at 204
If I'm Mayers, Ware, Stanfield seeing that and getting offers around those areas, I'd want to come back even with no leverage (if they arent getting offers $200k+)...granted Ware might still have leverage with screwy JUCO ruling
Noot seems like a no question to return if he cant get a decent offer with leverage still

Gonna be a crowded OF if we get the Dayton kid, Brown, Larson, Curiel, and Stanny comes back

I could see them encouraging Stanfield to go pro if they want to add more power to a corner OF spot, but kinda hard to also seem the encouraging him to do that with how good he was in SEC play this season.
Granted Braswell was really good in SEC play in 2024 and took a huge nosedive offensively...but his defense really helped us at 3B though and all we really needed.

JJ specifically mentioned Arkansas spending last year. Arky outbid us by a lot on Zach Root.

Glad I am not the only that thought this. Of course you always want guys back, and Chris would be welcomed back. But, would it be more of a pinch hitter, runner, late game defense role, and is there room on the roster for that? It seems Curiel is destined for CF, and he is draft eligible after next season. I think across the country, coaches may have to tell some kids, I would love to have you back, but if you get drafted, sign. Except when it comes to pitchers, unless someone is just not cutting it.
