Is it just me or is lsu going to need to add some more bats out the portal?

Probably one more MIF and maybe an OF depending on what Larson and Stanfield decide to do.

Depends what you call the first round. Last mocks I have looked at had Quentin Young and Jaden Fauske in the compensation/competitive balance parts of the 1st round. Likely getting over 2 mil for both if that happens and they will not be making it to campus.

After those 2 guys I feel like Sime, Ebel, Moss, and McKenzie are probably the next biggest risks to lose. Kind of feel better about Moss making it than the rest with the trajectory of his draft stock.

Serna, Patrick, Hamilton, and Hodge is that next group of guys to watch with decisions to make.

Young is way too raw right now. Can he get his name called by a team 25-30 based on his last name? Absolutely

Like project mentioned weeks ago...McKenzie is trending up but teams will take a less risky college arm in round one and then try and grab him a round or two after.

Fauske? Probably my favorite prospect but he's that normal round 2-3 type guy.

Young's size and athleticism will get him picked in the top 40 picks of the draft. Name doesn't hurt knowing the pedigree of the family. He showed out at the combine and teams will love the potential in what they get with him.

All about the money though. As we saw last season with Kale Fountain, a team that wants you will pick you and make the money works if they can.

i like our odds of getting both catchers

I was looking back at past drafts and it is a very college heavy position. Teams with draft you first round or they want to see you play behind the plate in college.

the exception being PR players.

If his last name was Adam his stock would be the same. Kid is a monster

Any suggestions for deep dives into the baseball high school signing class for Draft 2025/LSU 2026? I see the Perfect Game links at the top, wondering if any local media/websites have good content like they would for football/basketball signing classes. TIA.

It doesn’t get much attention & there are no local reporters who follow it harder than the people in this thread.

I would put the name of the prospect into a Twitter search & see what people are saying. Or just ask here

Thanks, getting into it now.

Love our JC signee - Daniel Harden. Looks like he was also an outstanding WR at Catholic High (BR) and has focused on baseball the past 2 years (obviously played both at Catholic). Raked this past spring at McLennan CC in Texas. Left handed bat.

.354 / .508 / .614 this season in 66 games. 12 HRs / 21 SB.

50 walks vs 34 Ks.

Not sure the competition level but those numbers are loud. Seems like a guy that could factor in the OF.

Decker doesn't hit home runs, but he would be a nice BA, OB guy at second base. Batted cleanup for Murray State this season. Didn't do anything in Omaha, but was Murray's best hitter in the Super Regional at Duke.

Not sure if there's even any possibility at this point with Tennessee and Arkansas also in the mix, but would love for our first public portal commitment post CWS to be Jarren Advincula to be the heir to Dickinson at 2B. No offense to Decker.
