Wonder if jay’s “out to lunch” comment, and his story about a pitcher not coming for his visit after game 1, was about bailey

Since we will be looking for a new 2B. Would assume we kick the tires on any good option, although not sure we’ll get any of the UVA guys. But you never know.

Godbout is another draft eligible guy that may just be making a leverage play.

I like the Fullerton kid Johnstone that just hit the portal. We're on him. He played 3rd, but could probably play multiple infield positions.

Yea I'd take johnstone in heartbeat. .344 w/ 7HR (24 total XBH) and 42RBIs as a frosh from the left side.

only fielded .920 though, but We've seen guys get a lot better in the field under this coaching staff

Very similar stats to Curiel although easier competition but had less games

Does anyone want to start a thread (that we can sticky) on the rant of a running roster tracker with incoming/outgoing guys? I appreciate the work in this thread, and 99% of the time I like to keep it here, but I wouldn't mind increased engagement it would get on the rant.

That, and winning a title usually keeps the retards at bay.

I understand it's a commitment to start and maintain, which is the reason I'm not doing it. Would greatly appreciate the effort if someone is willing to put it in.

For the sake of discussion, I'll put who I believe returns:

1. Arrambide
2. Milam
3. Reaves (could go)
4. Curiel
5. Brown
6. Guidry (could go)
7. Schmidt
8. Evans
9. Cowan (could go, 2nd best odds to go)
10 Noot (could go)
11. Williams
12. Yamin (could go)
13. Mayers (could, and probably will go)
14. Benge (could go)
15. Sheerin
16. Pearson
17. Rizy
18. Fontenot (could go)
19. Ware
20. Primeaux (could go)
21. Larson

I think Mayers is the only one on that list that likely leaves. I don't like speculating on who will transfer out, but that's likely going to be a natural part of this conversation. I have the following leaving for pro baseball/graduation

1. Stanny
2. Braswell
3. Pearson
4. Dickinson
5. Frey
6. Jones
7. Hernandez
8. Anderson
9. Eyanson
10. Shores

That's, at minimum, 2 SP, 1 high leverage BP, starting CF, 3B, 2B, 1B, C, DH, and rotational outfielder.

ETA: WJP, love your work just want something more LSU roster specific. Don't want to undervalue what you bring.

I think Mayers is more likely to go pro than Frey. Not to say they both couldn't but I have almost zero expectation of Mayers returning. I think Frey is 50/50. A lot of knowledgeable people seem to think the same.

SIAP, but this has to be about Bailey, right? He went 1.2 IP, 2H, 5BB, and 2ER in his cape debut last week.

I avoid the rant at all costs. I’d do it if others wanted it done or if this isn’t the right place for speculating on 2026. But literally this it the only thread I check on TD. The rant always devolves into name calling and squabbling.

Depending on what we do in the portal I could see Reaves leaving (we are on a number of MIF)

Noot will have a decision to make but he may get drafted high enough. Would love to see him back.

I think Yamin is back - I think it was likely agreed upon before year he would RS.

I think and hope Guidry and Cowan are both back.

The little used bullpen arms I think could transfer: Primeaux may want to be utilized more than just as a LOOGY. Benge, Ware and Fontenot lost trust and that’s hard to get back but all showed flashes.

Stanfield could come back. Larson hopefully comes back as 2026 version of Frey, but could also see him leaving like Kling and Kuch to get guaranteed playing time.

Y’all are misunderstanding that video. He said he has a zoom call with a player tonight. Then he immediately likened the scenario to one from 2023 as almost a preemptive message to this new meeting.

It’s not the same kid

Are you sure? I'll take your word for it, as I didn't watch the entire interview, but it sure seemed like he was talking about a kid from this week.

Either way, whoever the kid was, he made a mistake.

He said he has a zoom video with a kid tonight. Then talked about a text from a kid (likely Bailey) who texted Saturday saying he is committing elsewhere.

Am I missing something?
