Will Curiel make an instant impact?

I think curiel certainly has the ability to stick day 1 in center. Left handed swing, there has been talk of him not developing as much as scouts expected, but there is still a lot to like on the frame. Could be a 10+ HR guy if he puts on a few pounds.
Curiel has also played a tonnn of good comp. He plays in one of the best HS baseball areas in the nation, and has been playing high level summer ball.

The fact that they aren’t extremely appreciative of what jays done for them kinda shows their true character.
Then you have guys like Hellmers who almost became a legend if we could have closed out that Monday night game against UNC. Jay has said at least twice that Hellmers never asked him what’s in it for me. We now see why Jay was highlighting Hellmers in that capacity so much.

He was complaining two years ago about us going after SS in the portal. Connect the dots.
I’m not even sure if I believe that GG is salty, but if that’s true then I’m not sure what to tell the kid. Jay legitimately let him close out the NC last year. Jay also potentially saved his career by putting him at pitcher because he’s clearly not cut out to be a sec SS yet. Jay has invested as much into him as anyone else in an LSU.
I say this as someone who has GG as one of my favorite players

I was talking about the poster on here not GG himself.

I caught that. I’m kinda just going off the assumption that this guy is connected to GG. All of his posts reflect negatively on the coaching so I was thinking that was being filtered through GG. I could be way off on that. Like I said, GG has been one of my favorite tigers going on two years now. I want that kid in P&G as long as possible.

I think he can, he's older for his age and has played exceptional competition. This team needs to add more speed and lefty bats so he'll get a ton of chances early on.

Very excited with the Curiel news. I like the idea of continuing to build a core group of young players. If we could grab arrambide you would have to feel really good about the state of the program the next couple of years.

I fully expect him to be your opening day centerfielder.

It’s hard to complain then if you are getting money AND an opportunity like they both did
What’s the gripe? Coach is a meanie?

Curiel is an excellent example of why you recruit and sign these guys. He was a “never playing college ball” prospect a year ago.

Anyone want to take a shot at what next years starting 8 looks like based off of what we know right now?

To be fair at least Guidry is man enough to earn his spot next year.
Jay can't just sit around and hope Neal/Kling/Moffet/Johnson get it together next year.

Offering transfers $$$ but not giving your current players the same isn’t appealing to anyone. There are quite a few in the portal that would LOVE to stay but LSU isn’t the place for them if they want a future in baseball. Not because they aren’t good or LSU doesn’t have resources but because LSU isn’t taking care of the guys already here. Everyone wants these kids to sacrifice and stay because it’s LSU

You said players are leaving because lsu is handing out NIL money to players in the portal, then you said Kling and Neal were offered money to stay and they declined. Seems contradictory.

C- Priester
1B- Bear (a bit of wishful thinking)
2B- Milam
SS- Braswell
3B- Hernandez (?)
LF- Larson
RF- Brown
CF- Curiel

I’m starting to wonder if Larson will have a spot in the lineup if Jones comes back. OF will probably be Pearson, Curiel, Brown.

There are only a couple guys we lost to the portal that I think will be better wherever they go than they were here: Moffett and Zeb.
Zeb, because he'll pretty much have to be. He's talented, but didn't get the chances that were given to Kling (and Neal).
Moffett I think is very close to taking the next step, and I'm annoyed that someone else is going to get credit for developing him. He's the only one of all the portal entries I wish hadn't entered.
