Maybe Stanfield will come on and be a leadoff candidate

Stansfield at the 9 spot would be cool to see turnover the order.

3b Dickinson
1b Jones
Dh Hernandez/Beck
SS Bras
2nd Milam
LF Brown
RF Larson
C Priester
CF Stanfield

No way to predict what happens but that would be my preferred lineup. I’d love to see a couple freshmen get a lot of playing time as well.
I know things are tight trying to cram both Brown and Larson in the lineup but I think you have to have some continuity year over year. I know that’s not a popular take but I’d sacrifice some bat/defense to keep both Larson and brown in there unless someone else is significantly better.

Anyone think Jones ends up hitting cleanup with some sort of mix of (Braswell/Milam/Dickinson) at 1-2-3 in the order?
Jay highly values the R,L,R,L mix in the order and isn't afraid to put his best hitters 1 and 2 even if they aren't the old school "typical leadoff hitters." I think we will probably see Dickinson leading off more times than not and Jones either 2nd, or more likely 3rd. With Dickinson being RHH, I think you see Milam 2nd with Jones 3rd and LHH Beck protecting him.

I think a LHP would be a good add.

We’re carrying 3 right. If brown doesn’t pitch

Primeaux
Ware
Anderson.

if anderson earns a starting spot we get really thin there

On Baseball America's "Way Too Early" 2025 mock draft, they have Brady Ebel going 5th overall.

I find it hard to believe they would try and get a C. My roster count has 25 position players and 18 pitchers. I can see them add a LHP if they see one fit. Will be interesting to see how the roster is managed going into the fall and then after fall when the December transfer window opens.

Feel like guys like Schmidt/Harden might be asked to stay in JUCO while guys like Mic Paul/Griffin Cooley/Dylan Thompson may have some decisions to make on if they stick around.

I also feel like we're done with position players. We also don't have any redshirt candidates on this roster. Harden would have been one had he come to LSU out of high school. He's still raw. Talented, but raw. The reps he could get in JUCO vs the sparing playing time he'd get next season at LSU could really help him take a leap.

Ironically as you posted that I came across this little clip on Twitter.

If Braswell is hitting any higher than 7 this team will be no better than last year

100% agree and think that conversation will likely be had and maybe that is a reason that Jay didn't mention Harden by name like the others in the interview he had a month or so ago.

I know it’s Bleacher Report, but they have:

Ebel going 4th
Moss going 8th
Paz going 13th

They also have Shores going 9th.

I see Moss, Ebel, Young and Paz in most of those.

LSU has 3 really good SS committed. Young, Ebel and Ruckert. Gotta think one of them makes it to school.

I tell you what….on the way back to Nashville last night we passed the minor league stadium in Jackson, TN on interstate 40. There was like 12 people in the stands for the game. If I were CJJ I would take recruits to a minor league game immediately following a Friday night SEC game at The Box.

That life has to be brutal. Not even sure how you get excited to play baseball everyday.

Obviously if you are going in the first round or two then it is what it is but I’m really talking about the high school guys that might get 500k to sign. Go spend 2-3 years at LSU and have the time of your life.

Realistically, do they have any decent left handed arms in the portal or would it be a waste?

_______________

Catcher spot looks good with Arrambide not going pro. He and Priester will share pt.

The roster looks good, with exception of LHP. Without checking, I think we only have two.
