Hiring the interim rarely ever works and that's essentially what A&M is doing.

Aggie fans love the hire bc they expect this will keep their roster intact.

Little concern about long term.

Personally, I’ll take it over them hiring a proven big time coach and recruiter.

Was early set to go to Texas before A&M hired him? Kinda of wild to have a dude come back who just deserted you.

Still, I think I could coach that team to success next season. Lots of returning production it seems and those frickers are gonna be fired up to do some damage next year.

He was. I honestly think that’s the other thing blinding them in their excitement over this hire. They see it as an FU to Texas

I can't really fault him for that though. A new HC is more likely to bring in their own guy so he'd likely be out of a job.

Not at all and it probably not that out of the norm. I just think it’s interesting given what will now be colossal sized bad blood between Texas and AM. The dude goes from being hated to adored after a couple agent phone calls.

Would call this Hire a win if you’re an LSU fan. The top players at A&M will more than likely stay instead of being poached by DVH, Schloss, Tony V, O’Sullivan etc. but most importantly a division rival is taking a huge gamble on a guy who’s never been a HC when they could’ve gotten a really good HC out of one of the Carolina’s schools or someone like Deggs at ULL.

Good point here. Seems like Kent still has a chance to end up here so the only guy we may lose that we had a shot on would be Schott. I like his intangibles but it seems like his play is replaceable.

All you heard about all year was Weiner and Cain. They hired the other guy. I’m not complaining.

I'd rather Earley at A&M than David Pierce at Texas. Schloss gonna have a monster at either one. Net win for LSU

It looks like Jason Kelly, former LSU pitching coach and current Washington head coach, is headed to A&M as their pitching coach.

Uncommitted players that LSU has shown variable interest in.
