Feel like if a top pitcher commits to Auburn over LSU, there's nothing LSU could have done.

While i think LSU is better than all of these programs and will win most recruiting battales, I could see a kid choosingTennessee, Florida, Arkansas, A&M, and UGA (with Wes). Even the Mississippi schools make sense to an extent.

Auburn makes no sense.

Butch Thompson has been bitching about lack of NIL $$ for Auburn baseball, maybe the YellaWood guy finally threw him some cash.

McKay - 8.45 ERA, 33 IP, 31 ER, 28 BB, 39K, 1.848 WHIP

He was better as a freshman with a 3.78 ERA in 16 innings, 9 walks 26K

No connections to LSU, yet...

Sounds right

Hard to field a good team with a “by default” catcher.

Or SS for that matter.

The path they are currently on

So Priester is a default catcher and Braswell or Kucherak are default SS?

Oh i forgot not only are you a football scout especially RBs but you are also a baseball one

The only thing that could make Auburn more appealing for him is a guaranteed weekend rotation spot.

There is going to be some serious competition here for those spots. Especially if Herring is back.

Herring
Shores
Anderson
Cowan
Shereen
Noot

Root is being guaranteed a weekend role on every team in the country. I promise you that

depends on who your default option is.

Thompson was pretty much it in 2023 and he was pretty good.

i’d be fine with Braswell if he came back.

Priester & Braswell are both draft eligible and are not guaranteed to be on the roster

Kucherak isn’t a SS. He’d play there by default if that had to happen

Thompson was always a SS

A default SS would have been Gavin Dugas. Oh, he can play there because he did in HS.

I think Kucherak could handle SS. Either way, he’s one I hope sticks around.

I wonder if Root is taking these extra visits to try and drive the price up a bit. If we can close the deal with him our rotation is really strong on paper, even if Herring goes pro we have Anderson, Cowan, the kid from Mount St Mary’s, Hayden, and Root of course. That doesn’t include guys like Shores and Noot coming back from injury.

Hasn’t jay called Kucherak out SS of the future? I would be more concerned about his bat.

and obvious C is a huge question mark. not having one is different than having a default C.

Would you rather Milam at SS and Pearson at 2B or Kucherak at SS with Milam at 2B???

I’d rather the two natural infielders there, in a vacuum. But we know that question isn’t answered in a vacuum.

I've seen enough from Kucherak to say he can play SS pretty well. He has good middle infield actions. He's better defensively than Braz from what I have seen.

Auburn has already landed a highly sought-after pitcher from the portal. My guess is they have innings to offer and a good NIL package.

I think he could field the ball cleanly but I saw him in the fall. He has good hands but He lacks range & athleticism. He’s a break glass if necessary guy imo

Thankful for this new chapter. The lord has been faithful to me and my family during this process! Time to get to work.
