I agree man sweating this one out if he picks Tenner over LSU than he’s either scared of the competition or likes Anderson over Yeskie

I don't expect Holman to pop until at least Sunday/Monday. Just a guess.

I’m genuinely surprised he’s taking a weekend to think about it.

The programs aren’t comparable at all. Loer already laughs about taking a visit up there. Tommy White joked with Mahtook about considering Tennessee. Skenes has talked about how easy it was for him after seeing Miss St, Ark, Tenn then LSU.

Maybe Vitello can pull it off. But I’d love to hear how he explains the Burns transfer and Dollander’s regression.

The 2023 season cost Dollander and Ahuna a combined 7.5M according to Callis’ mock in December. Merritt and Denton transferred there to help their stock and went undrafted. Vitello can only try to sell things he and Tennessee have yet to do. It’s hard enough to sell on potential early in a tenure, but now he’s going into year 7 with 1 win in Omaha.

Miss St is a disaster for a 1 year transfer. I could see a HS kid giving that program a chance, but Montgomery and Holman can’t sign up for potential coaching turnover when it matters most for them.

Well, to be fair to montgomery and holman, they wouldnt have to deal with coaching turnover, they are 1 year rentals

If he doesn’t pick LSU he’s afraid of competition because with our current depth no one is guaranteed a weekend rotation spot

Maybe with both Montgomery and Holman, State will make a regional and Lemonis will see the end of the year. Unless they coordinate that, neither can bet on the other to be there.

Without both of those guys, I think Lemonis is let go mid season and that staff is spending the second half looking for the next job. Holman would have to deal with that.

They still may not have enough pitching to win 15 SEC games with Holman.

This is an excellent post. It’s hard for me to see him picking anywhere but LSU.

I don't know how much run support he'd get at Ms St and TN either. LSU is the safest choice. The only real concern he could possibly have at LSU is being overshadowed - but this year proved that just doesn't happen no matter where you slot in.

By what date does Holman have to decide to be eligible for 2024? Sorry if already answered, don’t have the patience to look through 259 pages

Not trying to stir this up, again, but the Butler start was great, too. I think people remember that his first 3 starts of SEC play were rough and just lump that in with the entire first half of the season.

Skenes is on record saying Crews and Wes were deciding factors for him coming to LSU, which neither are here anymore. He also said he liked how LSU didn’t talk about other programs (or negatively recruit I think is the term).

I agree with everything you said, so I’m hoping Vitello and Lemonis can do the negative recruiting on each other because that doesn’t seem like Jays style.

It’s no need for it to be Jays style. We are the power house and we can just list our positives and accomplishments vs state and tenn.

We don’t have to get in the mud.

We can leave all the mudslinging for our fans
