He prob has a 50 arm on the mlb scale. Plenty strong enough for LF or RF

I heard that too. Rooney is probably kicking himself for saying that if that’s what happened

The way he said it was odd. It was as if it already happened and it was a done deal and then he followed it up with an awkward "from what we are told." Definitely seemed like he caught himself in the mistake and was trying to backtrack on it and save himself.

I'm surprised we haven't heard of any transfer portal entries.

The numbers aren't terrible right now from a roster stand point. Rosters are extended to 40 this year and as we are today they have 45 players with 1 we know will be out for the season. That is also not including Coleman who reportedly is 50/50 on signing. Does not include Tanner Reaves either because I'm not sure what his situation is. Injuries happen and as with last year I'm sure Jay will talk to a few freshman on redshirting if need be.

Also have the December portal window, but at that point most of the rosters are figured out for most teams unless maybe transferring down to JUCO or something like that.

I just watched the most recent Moffett appearance.

This is the one from the 14th where he came in for one inning and picked up a save. He was throwing on the second day in a row, which I think is a first for him but is a valuable tool for relievers.

He seemed to work in more breaking balls this time. It looked like two different ones. One with more sweeping action that he threw 4-5 times. One was more of a six twelve action that he threw a couple times and one of them got a swing and miss for strike two to the last batter. It was a beautiful pitch. His fastball remains impressive. It moves like crazy. If he's able to tunnel it with the sweeper and have the balls look like they're coming from the same place and then breaking in two different directions he's going to be dangerous.

This is great news, hopefully he continues to develop.

I meant 12-to-6 action. If someone is throwing it upside down though, I want to see it.

Hill and Klein being Louisiana natives that we were in contact with makes it a little tough to see them at other places.

But I'm not too heartbroken about it because I still prefer the traditional recruiting route and using the portal in a more targeted way to fill gaps.

Hill and Klein would have brought experience, but not necessarily more talent than other guys already here. Now the 1B/DH spot remains a place to work other guys in and get them at bats. Whether it's Travinski, Jones, Frey or some of the outfielders. The middle infield is a little less settled, but getting Milam to campus is a huge deal.

My opinion is at this point you are targeting Holman and Montgomery. After those 2 make a decision you ride with what you have. Felt that way before both of those committed actually.

That's a good spot for him, he will fit well with their style of play.

How hard is he throwing these days? I don't recall from his one appearance last year.

Have you watched the last outing? You're better at identifying pitches than I am so I was interested to read your interpretation.
