I don’t think you want Holman to be a Friday night guy. Your rotation is struggling if he is. I don’t see him as a true ace but he’s a great 2 or 3.

What kind of numbers does Hurd give you for a season if he’s the guy he was at the end of the year , on average, all season?

I think Hurd can be better than Floyd. He will only get better too. His curve or slider or whatever it is , is elite. Floyd’s is too but he can’t control it consistently

Hurd didn’t have a healthy off-season. You’ve gotta think with a full off-season spent training instead of recovering he will take the next step. He has still played very little college baseball. He didn’t get to make that sophomore jump that a lot of players get.
That’s not to say that Holman can’t also improve but Hurd has a true chance to be an SEC ace and a first round pick. I don’t really get that from Holman.
