Saw Mic Paul was the player of the game for his summer ball league yesterday too. Had 3 hits with a stolen base. Think 1-2 rbi and a couple runs scored also.
I think if you take an OF it has to be a difference maker like Montgomery.

Montgomery has actually played OF all summer with Team USA but he can play infield.
ETA: You wonder if maybe his decision depends primarily on being close to home but might like to hear that we're open to him as an infielder and/or heavier 2-way role.

I believe Montgomery is from Mississippi and I think it was between LSU and Stanford originally for his decision.

He barely played. But they chose to redshirt Ruddell & mic Paul so they likely thought he was ahead of those guys. And Ruddell flashed a good bit

I don’t think dude got a fair shot to form an opinion on. They stuck him in the outfield a few times for the simple purpose of getting him at bats and being overloaded with C/1B/DH options. He was a 6’5 215 pound catcher trying something completely different. I honestly couldn’t care less with what we saw from him with the glove out there.
As far as at the plate, I thought he had some nice ABs. Jay constantly singles him out when talking about the future and says he’s a future All-American.

Where yat? I wanna know how true this is because it doesn’t make much sense. He clearly flashed talent and we are losing so many starters this year. Hope he stays and develops under the best hitting coach in the country

My only concern with Frey is how he’ll fit in the lineup. Specially if Travinski and/or Jobert return. I would think catcher will be Neal/Millazo/Travinski. Jones will have 1B locked up. Frey will have to fill a corner outfield spot. That’ll be hard to do if Jobert returns.

Some tough decisions will have to be made before that happens
With playing time being a factor it’s gonna be hard for him to come back and risk sitting another season when he could be starting somewhere else
Lsu will need catchers if Milazzo and travinski decide to move on and Neal and Frey handling catcher duties could work, you need at least 2 catchers to get thru grind of season and Frey could dh when he’s not catching

Kendall Rodgers was asked where he thought certain transfer players would land and he said he thought Holman would end up at LSU or UF. I’ve seen on Ark boards they feel they also have a good shot at him.
