re: LSU Baseball 2022 (and beyond) Recruiting Thread (OLD THREAD, PLEASE STICKY NEW ONE)

We picked up a commitment from Weatherford College pitcher Adrian Siravo. He had a good freshman year in Texas and then showed out on the Cape. I'm trying to determine if he's coming in this fall or if he's in the next class before adding him to the list.

I added Siravo to the commit list. He's our first JUCO commit for the 2022 class. Credit to David Folse for breaking it.

I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and found out there was a cajun place in Colleyville that I hadn't tried. So, I drove a half hour to "The Cajun Market and Cafe" to spend some money.

While I was there I met and chatted with Griffin Herring, our new LHP from Southlake. He was very nice and seemed excited about starting up school at LSU. I told him to do himself a favor and stay off tigerdroppings. He laughed. /he said that he committed to LSU when he was 14, and that people on tigerdroppings were saying he was too skinny. He said, "I was 14!".

I also told him we're expecting a lot from the baseball team this year, and he nodded and grinned. I think he knows.

Griffin, if you are reading this, it was nice to meet you! I'll be rooting for you! Now stop reading all this crap!

Any other pitchers for this year that you may see coaches Johnson, Kelly, or Fitz following on Twitter or social media LSU may have a shot at?

Now we just need Neville to sweep the Nevada trio.

Although LSU's’ newest recruit has committed to a college program, it’s fair to wonder if he'll ever step foot in Baton Rogue, La. Snelling has played in some of the top high school showcase games this summer and could be a high pick in the 2022 MLB draft. He'll have the option of forgoing college and turning pro, although he hasn't made any decisions yet. Johnson is known for being among the best college coaches in getting premium talents to forgo a pro career to play in college.

“If I don't get drafted in a spot that I feel would be life changing and it would be kind of not smart to go after the draft, going to LSU is really not that far behind the MLB," Snelling said. Ultimately it depends on his definition of “life changing”, but the 8 month time frame he mentions doesn’t really line up with the actual draft. Given that and some of the comments Johnson has made so far I think it’s too early to assume he would be an easy sign.
