Floyd throws hard I will give him that. Not a fan of his mechanics/delivery. Doesn't look very repeatable to me, and he uses too much of his arm and not enough lower body for my liking.
Can't image him having a long future with the way he puts so much strain on his arm.
Hopefully Kelly can fine tune him.

New portal name to watch, pitcher Hunter Furtado from Wake Forest. Alternately listed as Dave or David Furtado.
Cape Cod stats
ETA: He played with Dugas in summer ball last season in the SFCBL.
ETAA: Kelly was on him previously it looks like, but Johnson recently started following him as well.

I think we’ll start to see a lot of movement over the next week to 10 days both with the portal names and finalizing the 21-22 roster, and in the next couple classes. The draft will be wrapping up so they should have a good idea of how next year’s roster will shake out. Then they should be out on the road with a lot of the national events either taking place now or in the next few days.

Had a ROUGH stat line at Wake this year.
1-4
6.31 ERA
22 appearances, all in rellief
no saves
25.2 IP
28 hits
18 runs, all earned
11 walks
27 hits
3 doubles
1 triple
7 home runs
.283 BAA
5 wild pitches
3 hit batsmen
Of all the guys they're looking at I think this one is the least exciting. Much rather have Shaffer from SLU and his 94 mph heat.

I know we're listed at 52/40 right now, but realistically that could drop by like 5 today.
It includes Hill, Marceaux, Kudrna, etc.
I don't think the numbers are very far off right now. But we'll almost assuredly see some attrition from the current roster or recruiting class if we're still looking to add guys.

Pretty sure nap said we were at like 45, so I’d imagine we already had some guys that were told to look around but haven’t made it public.

Yeah, it could have also been taking off the presumed pro signers. I don't think his numbers and my numbers were too different, depending on how you look at them.

Hunter Furtado is a 6-foot-5 left-handed arm front The King’s Academy in Lake Worth, FL who has been on the rise in scout's eyes. We had the pleasure to sit in on a 30 pitch bullpen and are here to break down some of the major takeaways.
First, some background information: Furtado has made some major jumps in velocity over the last year. Going from low to mid 80s, to an average fastball velocity of 88 mph, and now up to 91 mph. He has a very long, lean, lanky frame that is extremely projectable. This, coupled with the fact he will be only 17 at draft time, could ultimately make him an intriguing draft candidate for many MLB clubs.

Just because it's relevant today with the draft, I plan to reset the thread on August 1st or 2nd when the draft signing period is done. I will start a new thread in the same format as this one with links to this thread and the other old ones.

Kudrna, Selvidge, Jensen, and Moller all drafted in the first three rounds?

I read that as well. It does sound like Selvidge is going to play for LSU.
Well… Shooter Hunt’s blurb on our draft was off. Selvidge and Moller are gone. I was hopeful Selvidge would make it after reading it and his report on BA. I guess his combine performance made a difference.

Mat Olsen from Central Arizona has to be someone we go hard after now (he would likely have to get out of an LOI at Arizona State): LINK
He just got drafted in the 9th round.

Maybe Johnson can convince Olsen if he plays at LSU he could move up to maybe 2nd Rd instead of 9th.
