Steven Toth, Illinois 2024, now shows as a commitment on PG. Looks to be a possible case of “edit your own profile”.

I see those pop up from time to time. They usually get taken off relatively quickly. It's why I don't add guys to the list until I can verify the commitment somewhere else, usually on Twitter.

I'm guessing he's the Louisiana lefty that's a silent commit that Moscona referenced this morning?

Sorry if that has been discussed, but what are the odds Luke Leto makes it to campus?
All of the articles I see keep saying "he was once the #1 player in the country, now he's not, he's still first round good, but also he won't get drafted high."
They're pretty all over the place and the only reason I can find for him falling is his "athleticism fell off as he aged".
Is this a situation where a sure fire first round talent had a bad senior year/scouts think he suddenly has holes in his game? or just someone who peaked too early?

Peaked too early and grew... alot.

I don’t know if you would necessarily call it peaking early. It’s not unusual for prospects to lose speed and agility as they get older and bigger. His bat should still be a factor in college but as a pro prospect who is now slotted to a corner it has to carry his value even more.

Eric reyzelman from San Francisco is another portal name to watch. Currently in the cape cod league

Shaffer is interesting.
He's a lefty with a 94 mph fastball, and that's legitimate, and he's caught some draft notices as a result. He was the preseason Southland Conference Pitcher of the Year based off the four games he pitched in 2020 where he was absolutely dominant.
Then he struggles this year and ends up in the bullpen before it's over and has a 4.95 ERA.
You'd be tempted to see that and go "Nah."
He does seem to walk a lot of hitters. 30 in 40 innings this year (while striking out 59).
But a lefty who throws 94? Seems like you can find a place in the bullpen for that and see if you can't work on his control some, right?

Not to mention that when Riser put Shaffer in the bullpen after UNO shelled him in early May, he really put it together. In five appearances, he worked 10 innings, only gave up six hits and one run, walked four and struck out 14.
THAT you can definitely find a place for.

Rosters for 2021 MLB High School All American game came out yesterday. LSU has 5 commits from our 2022 class participating.
This game kicks off the All Star weekend festivities at Coors Field this Friday and you can watch the game live on MLB.com.

Looking back at previous classes. Incredible difference between Cannizzaro’s classes and those after.
Since he left, the number of misses we’ve had is mind numbing. Each class has as many kids that have made no impact or kids who aren’t even in the program anymore as they have guys who’ve played any meaningful role here.
Looking forward to seeing Johnson and his staff change that.

Here are the participating players committed to LSU. Also, Jared Jones is in the home run derby. Should be fun to watch!

Aiden Moffett, OF Taylorsville HS (MS)
Paxton Kling, OF Central HS (PA)

Brock Lansville recently decommitted from Arizona State. I have to think we're in a good spot to land him. He's a 2024 kid. Cale's younger brother.

Has anyone seen anything mentioning the stock of any commits? Selvedge is a stock up guy, Kudnra has been trending up since spring; Jensen has been steady. Anything new or specific on those?

Moller has kind of stayed in place, which puts him in a position to be drafted high enough to leave.
Leto's stock has been dropping, but I honestly have no clue what his intentions are now that the staff has turned over.
He's doing pretty decent in the Northwoods league last I checked. He's played 2nd base and LF in the games I watched.

Looks like McManus committed to LSU today

Project! Do you think either Moller or Jensen make it to LSU?
