PG All American game is on the MLBN. Haven’t checked the full rosters but they featured Romo in the open and Crews just batted for the East.

Eric Sorenson does Area Code Games coverage for D1 baseball each year. Area Codes and the PG AA Game have been coordinating on timing for the last few years since they're both held in Southern California, so Romo was at Area Codes last week leading up to the PG Game. Here is Sorenson's review of Romo:
quote:
C- Drew Romo (LSU commit), Rangers
The second coming of Adley Rutschmann? Romo is a switch-hitting catcher with advanced skills behind the plate. Romo didn’t have a great week at the dish (though he did hit one of only two home runs at the ACG on Thursday), but picked guys off the base paths on three occasions from behind the plate with his strong, accurate arm. Projected to be a top 10 high schooler, I’m guessing he won’t be playing college ball.

LSU picked up a 2020 RHP commit from Jesuit in New Orleans. Will Hellmers announced his commitment on Twitter about a half hour ago.

It looks like Brock Mathis is transferring to Oklahoma State for his junior season. If he wasn't on baseball money at LSU, he will be eligible immediately there. If he was on baseball money, he will have to sit a year.

Kendall Burnett added to the 2020 baseball roster
LHP out of CA
Not sure if a walkon or what?
Roster at 37
Not sure if that means they might have an injury designation that won't hurt 35

Hmm, I can't find anything on him from last year, but he was a 2018 commit to USC. Don't know if he got on campus anywhere. I see he's showing as a transfer and as a freshman. I wonder if he was out with injury or something last year.
Also, with the new rules, if you transfer D1 to D1 but weren't on baseball money you have immediate eligibility. That may be coming into play here.
Perfect Game Profile
ETA: He ended up at Pacific, not USC. But isn't showing on their 2019 roster. I'm guessing he's going to be eligible right away.
ETAA: Looks like he played in the same Travel Ball program as Zach Arnold. I would imagine that's where the connection was. I don't know if 2020 commit Jordan Thompson (also from the San Diego area) is associated with that program as well, though.

If it doesn't work out... he can walk on in basketball.

Not going to lie, I was getting Will Reese deja vu as well.

Have we offered Reece Roussell yet?
Kid is 12 of 15 at the Little League World Series and just hit a slam.

By the way, the kid from Pitkin is coached by former Tiger J.C. Holt.

Nice tidbit on Pitkin.
Go look at Nolan Cain's "likes" on his Twitter feed. Nothing but people telling to offer the kid.

That kid can rake and his favorite team is us. Match made in heaven/

He certainly looks the part right now. Fun to watch during this championship run. Set new hit record today. Kid right behind him Marshall Louque pretty good too. Of course they could be at peak now at 12.
Posted on 8/26/19 at 10:55 am to jondavid11
Maybe Louque is an early big kid, but Roussel swing is legit. That will carry on whether he ends up 6’2” 210 or 5’10” 175.
CPM probably prefer the latter anyway.
