We had, but lost to some mediocre team... Except this time we got him....this time we have the guy that other schools passed up, not knowing the talent in front of them...

We'll know in about 3 years. I'll say this though, for being an 18 year kid, he sure does speak and carry himself very well. It seems to come naturally. To me, that's special

He's the best QB prospect in the nation. Thank God we got turned down by the others.

If the only reason He wasnt made a bigger priority by other schools was size, then we lucked out and they f'd up.

Considering how crappy our coaches have done with there QB picks this decade it is encouraging that we didn't get our top wants.

I saw LS play once this year and after talking and hearing more about the kids mind/conference/style I am now legitimately excited to see him on the field.

In many ways including size he reminds me of former Clemson QB Tahj Boyd, and he had a really good college career for a 6ft QB. We all remember the peach bowl right.

I'm not a scout by any stretch (so this probably means nothing); but I have watched a lot of high school QB highlight reels, and Lindsey seems to have that sixth sense pocket presence that seems so rare and almost impossible to coach.

LS is in the mold of QB's that LSU usually flourishes with.

Hopefully having him get to redshirt and slowly come along will pay big dividends

Agree, watched him play twice this year and he has eyes in the back of his head. Pocket awareness is just good , however with every high school QB we just have to wait and see. I just don't know that predicting the QB position for anyone is a sure thing, the hardest position to evaluate for a college coach.

If he was 6ft 2", He would have been a top 10 recruit, lsu would have had him #1 on their list, they would have made him a recruiting priority and got him. Everyone would be excited and saying how the coached did a good job. (just like b. harris)

Well we have tall receivers coming in with long arms so that may help!

Not comparing players here but the situation seems very similar to bridgewater. Hopefully he ends up as good as teddy did for louisville

I'm just curious, how exactly do you know he's the best?
Have many others have you seen play?
How many times have you seen this kid play?

You shouldn't post stupid things that have no proof of.

I like that comparison, the mental side of the game is so important and is ALWAYS overlooked by the services, why? You can't quantify it, can't see it from highlights, but its the most important aspect of a QBs game. This kid has it all, leadership, cool under pressure, football IQ, pocket awareness, ability to process ALOT of info instantly. This kids dad had him knowing difference between zone or man before he was 10... He will have 2 years to learn, I think we will have a good QB competition after Harris/Etling leave. I can't wait to watch this kid

2 questions though.

1) Can he or has he ever played under center which is what we do in this offense more than not. 3, 5 and 7 step drops. Big difference than playing out of the shotgun every play which is how Harris came in I believe. He completely has had to learn that.

2) When you hand the ball off out of the shotgun is the RB still the same distance from the line of scrimmage as he is when he gets the ball out of the I formation? Just a question I was wondering about not really having paid attention to that before I guess.

We've had three of those just since 2008: Sam Bradford, Marcus Mariota and Johnny Football
