Which is why i said "just like anywhere else just about".

Come to LSU and get 75 carries a year, or go to another school and get 175?

and this board hates on Bama guys for being 1st round "Busts". lol

This guy is a bama fan. GTFO
Bama doesn't send as many RBs to the NfL as LSU does and when they get their they fare worse than LSU RBs.

, but I would also say that Ridley and Hester actually were showcased in their senior years, and they were the both drafted in the 3rd round, so they were certainly noticed.

oh absolutely.

Ridley did benefit from being in his 4th year with a bunch of FR behind him.

Hester was solid. I loved him. But it could be argued that Keiland and Charles Scott outplayed him when they saw the field.

I'm speaking more to the entirety of the board than you, LE.

If anyone thinks a player the caliber of these guys couldn't go to San Jose St. and get noticed, they aren't thinking it through.

Marshall Faulk would have made the bigs if he played at LSU or Bama too.

Iam not a Bama fan by any means, but I'm not going to say something that doesnt make sense.

I don't think recruits care how the players pan out in the NFL. But if you are a HS player, and you're talking to Nick Saban about coming to Alabama, you bet your arse he is gonna say they've had THREE 1st round RBs in the last 5 years.

That's a much more lucrative ticket to the NFL than Michael Ford having to fight for a roster spot as an undrafted free agent. Or Spencer Ware moving to FB in order to make a team. Or Charles Scott fizzling out. Think about it.

lets see how high Jeremy Hill gets drafted. Since, he did rush for 1300 yards this season. when was the last time you saw a 1000yd back at LSU? Steven Ridley?

we have a new OC. Cam is known for his offensive schemes. This could get interesting. Especially, if Jeremy impresses at the combine.

I understand that happens in the long run.

but hypothetically, would you rather your son be the #3RB at LSU or the RB1 at Auburn?

Keiland Williams for instance left LSU after 4 years. He ran for 1,700 yards, 17 TDs and averaged 5.7 YPC. He never had more than 83 carries in a season.

You are telling me he'd have the same perceived value had he went to Auburn, and had back to back 1300 yard seasons, which he was capable of.

It's great we have team players that accept that role, but im sure its not exactly what they envision when they come to LSU.

How he fights for his reps is on him. I dont think that i would mind him taking snaps with the #1 rb in the nation. That might spark his competitive nature then what would you have in your backfield?

yeah i didnt want to go there, but its hard to deny. We won the national title so it's

you're charles scott in lexington and you're getting 10 a pop ripping Kentucky a new a-hole, and all of a sudden you stop seeing the ball. In a game we end up losing.

Lester earl is a troll. He comes into these threads and talks about bama, waiting for an e-fight. Nobody should respond to this prick.

See Cadillac Williams and Ronnie brown at auburn ...

Both were unbelievably talented backs and ended up being high picks

If you're talented, have the measurables, and aren't a headcase--- you will get drafted and you will play in the pros

Honestly, I think it all comes out in the wash. The back to back 1300 yd RB is more exposed to injury.

It seems that those type of backs that go earlier in the draft are almost guaranteed busts. They might get more in the short term, but never pan out.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like most NFL teams are looking for the 3rd-5th round back that they don't have to invest heavily in up front, since the average length of their playing careers are like 3-4 years.

Now, we're talking major Div-1 schools. If you're wanting to get noticed at the lower tier colleges, I would definitely agree.

so true, seems like a pretty weak recruiting angle yet it seems to work really well for Bama so why not use it

they also had Brandon Jacobs who had to transfer

Look at Arkansas with Felix Jones, Darren McFadden, and Payton Hillis.. and 2 went in the first freaking round together..
